Cool. Anyone know how "Slow It Down" interpolates Hall & Oates?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ccenFp_3kq8

The verses, for example? Almost the same.
And the way the keys are played as well.

The official instrumentals from Voicenotes are available on the web.

It's not like complex productions, but the songs are really good.
Slow It Down is great.

No punch to the production... sounds like a demo and a Chainsmokers song

Two things: Charlie's doing and AMA at Reddit's popheads -check it out- and he did a song with Sam Smith.

I'll never feel like I've learned it all, which is why collaboration is so important. That is what Max Martin told me. I forever want to be the musical sponge soaking up and learning from the latest and greatest. Charlie Puth.

Hey Charlie! I was looking at your credits on Genius and I saw that you are credited as "beatbox" on the page of Dangerous Woman by Ariana Grande. How did that happen?
I love your new song very much, thanks for doing this!

My friend Johan Carlsson produced that song for Ari. I've made quite a bit of music with him and we in the past have traded sounds on our hard drives. The night before the song came out, he played me the isolated drum track and layered in there was my beatbox mouth snare. I thought that was pretty cool. I most recently used that sound on Katy Perry's latest Small Talk. (Also made with Johan.)

I'm really into his way of promoting this song, let's see if all that TikTok promo pays off

Charlie Puth - Light Switch [Official Music Video]

Looks like he learned his stuff pretty well, everything is there. Two notes, the first 8 bar melody could be lower, less spread or less attractive, then the next 8bar mel would sound more uplifting and more interesting. Like Beavis and Butthead once famously said, it's good that verse sucks because that makes the chorus sound better. And the chorus melody is not very commercial in the classic Cheiron way. Maybe good old Dennis would suggest to him to make chorus mel more simple, and to repeat more.

Here's An Explainer Of The Drama Between Charlie Puth, Benny Blanco, And Billie Eilish

Well, Charlie's kind of rebranded his music career on TikTok with ultra-viral videos, where he shows the behind-the-scenes journey of making his songs. They've gotten tens of millions of views, and people really love them.
OK, so...the past few months, Benny Blanco has been taking jabs at Charlie on TikTok every time he's posted a behind-the-scenes video. Like, he's called him a "piece of shit" and mocked him for documenting his musical process.

Here's a compilation of the videos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XUVlbSXGbqc

The Chainsmokers said on an interview it was all fun and they're friends.

What do you guys think?

nanofives

I always believed that Charlie's videos were kinda cringy but I don't mind having someone showing the making of a song.
Benny's videos on the other hand are beyond cringe, no matter if they're friends or not it's just bad taste, hard to watch, just embarrassing.

So, it wasn't staged?

We don't know. It could be but there's not certainty about it.
