Both Cheiron related, so may be interesting!
And I liked it..

Most definetly BSB, but... isn't this the Off Topic NON-Cheiron category?!

turnaround

You are right, I moved it.
And I liked it..

bsb!!!

Their song are more catchy... ( catchier? sorry My english is bad..lol ) than the Westlife.!!

Linda

I love bsb

and i really don't like westlife...

I think its because they are irish and i'm irish...i dunno

Rebecca

I voted BSB on this one.
Westlife sing way too many cover songs
I am seeing Westlife in concert next Tuesday, with Anthony Callea supporting - I'm really looking forward to it. I just hope Westlife don't sing all their Love Song covers.

Linda

yep thats another thing I dislike about Westlife... the cover songs

turnaround

I voted for Westlife, I have almost all the CDs at home and have been a fan, though the covering put me off.

They get worse with every album and the Swing album was just hideous.

I'd appreciate if they come back with a album with just originals (at least 50 % Swedish songs) but I doubt it.
And I liked it..

Great combination, Rebecca, I would love to see the two too!
You have to tell us if you liked it! Cheiron songs live performed! YAY!  :)
And I liked it..

I have seen them twice i think. But didn't bother with the last 2 or 3 shows they did here. As far as the cheiron stuff live. It always bugs me, i saw BSB, Westlife, and Britney live, and although the bands are always great (BSB and Britney pretty much share the same live band), the band is always too small to do real justice to cheiron productions. It does really annoy me, because you see all these dancers leaping around and al of this huge expensive stage set, and it always leaves me thinking "if you had a percussionist, one more keyboard player and one more guitarist the music would be awesome".
I like Westlife, but i think they have really lost their way. I guess thats the way they want to go!
I would love a whole new album ideally by BSB of all maratone and a-side stuff. That would be great!!!
A childrens song, have you listened as they play? There song is love, and the children know the way!  B.Wilson/V.D. Parks. Brian Wilson presents Smile.

I agree with you malcolm.
On the #1 DVD of Westlife I disliked the arrangments of the songs, especially of the Swedish songs. They changed chords which destroyed the feeling for me.

But concerning bands at live concerts. I think strings are essential. Delta Goodrem had er live-string section at her tour and they made the sound really exciting. As the Westlife songs are always recorded with real orchestra it's annoying if they wouldn't have a few string players to perform them.
And I liked it..

Malcolm is having trouble posting, so he emailed his response to me:

I haven't listened to Delta much, my sister has her
first album, but from what i remember there is a lot
of strings in there, and they are real orchestral
instruments. I remember her album having a real live
band sound to it. And i believe whole heartedly that
if that is the way it is produced, then damn it thats
what i want to see and hear when i pay good money for
it live!!!!!!
I guess we are in a minority here. And most fans are
interested in the show. Personally i would prefer
britney or bsb or anyone sat on a stool in the middle
of the stage under regular lighting with a good strong
fully loaded band behind them performing music. It
bugs me that so much is put into the show side of
things, but i guess like i saw, that is what the
majority are interested in.
It seems that tours these days are like musicals. Too
much costume and fooling around. I guess that is the
music fan in me getting annoyed!!!!

Malcolm, Part 2:

I was in Vegas over the summer and i saw pink at
mandalay bay, im not a big pink fan, but i went there
and really enjoyed it. It was part of the annual
summer concerts at the beach thing that mandalaybay
do. They have a tiny stage next to the fake beach out
back from the hotel. Her band was great, 2 keyboards,
bass, drums and i think also seperate percussion, 2
guitars and 2 backing singers also. THere wasn't any
room left for anything on the stage! It was a basic
light show, but what a great evening. Then 3 months
ago i saw her at the arena here in newcastle, and it
was absolutely awful, bad sound, bad everything. It
was like it just wasn't about the music at all!!
I saw last year also Kelly clarkson at the arena, her
show was music based but i thought her band let her
down a little. They seemed totally disinterested, and
it came across in their sound and performance
generally.

Malcolm Part 3:

I've seen a lot of different bands over the years,
varying styles of music, and the two best band i have
seen by far, i mean no bands i have ever seen have
come close to the abilities of these bands are..... in
no particular order.... 1, Brian Wilsons band.   2.
Shania Twains band.
The last time i saw shania was at newcastle arena, i
got to meet cory churko (her spanish
violinist/percussionist). Id seen a couple of her
shows live previously and studied dvds and stuff. I
was very intrigued as to how much of the band was
live, so i asked him "how much of the show is taped
and synched through on the click track?". He said "
absolutley none of it, every last note you  hear apart
from the sound effects as the band take the stage is
live". I said to him"look me in the eye and tell me
that"! He did. We had a rerlatively short but
interesting conversation about various aspects of
music and performance. But he left me convinced that
it is all live. I told him no matter how hard i try i
have never picked up on any mistake. He told me they
make mistakes nearly everynite, but they are so small
not even all of the band notice them, he said "believe
me, if you listen hard enough you will catch a mistake
or 2 tonite".

Rebecca

I'm having a bit of trouble posting the last part of Malcolm's post, will try again very soon. sorry malcolm!
