Check this out - it's from a new pop songwriter in Brooklyn:

I think this could be a great single with the right female vocalist - what do you think?!?

Big and seriously catchy!!

Rebecca

Welcome thestarmaps

I've had a few of listens to the song, I think it's pretty good song, though it's not poppy enough for me and is a little repetitive. The singing is okay, so your suggestion of the right female singer could really make the difference!

Did you write this song starmaps?

*Sabine*

Not really my style, as Reb said, not poppy enough? I dunno if you wrote it but you should make it more catchy and less repetitive...

Thanks for the replies (except for the "very bad" one - ouch!) . . . yes, I wrote this song.  I'm a big Max fan (only found this Website recently), and I'm trying to write songs at his level of catchiness.  I'm going to be working with a female vocalist on this song, and I think that will help.

I'll repost once I think I have a better version ready - thanks for listening!!

Also, I predict that Max will probably work with neon hitch (look her up on myspace) in the next few months.

ahaha sorry  ;D ! I thought u was just here for one post, just to show your song "better than a new max song"  which is not better than a new max song lool
I was mad!

I hope a better version ! ;D but stop the " better than a max song "  ;D ;D

Oh, no problem - yes, it was a cheeky title - and the wrong place to write with with so many Max fans here!!!

As a Max fan myself, I totally understand.

In another note, I saw Britney here at MSG on the 25th, and while the Max songs sounded great, of course, it was a bummer that she only actually sang one song. . . though I guess that's to be expected.

My favorite song from the new Britney album is "Unusual You"

Rebecca

I absolutely love "Unusual You" too, glad you enjoyed Britney's concert even though she only sings one song.

That's great that Max is an inspiration for your songwriting Derick, I hope your songs work out for you.

Thanks for the tip re Neon Hitch, I'll keep an eye out.

Poptasticuk

I'm a huge fan of Neon Hitch, so I hope you're right that she'll work with Max! What is your source for this info? I think she could be really successful, even if she doesn't work with Max.

wow, I really like Talk To Me, I'm really impressed actually. I like it much better than your first song. I really like your vocals on it too. Good luck with Vita though.

The chours of this song isn't strong to make it stand out actually. To follow the steps of Max, you need to have a so damn catchy chorus. Basiclly the chorus defines the song for almost everyone of us, so my suggestion is to work better on choruses, you know make'em uptempo, angry I don't know hmmm catchy!

Good luck!

Thanks, Rebecca and Feelgoodlies!  I'll let you know if anything happens with this track.
