so i downloaded this 51 part multitrack for the song "Who Knew" and i tried to make an instrumental but the mix that i got from combining the tracks sounded distorted AF.

and that is because the multi was tampered with. the real pack is still missing.

j.fco.morales

Thank you for the multitrack, but you shouldn't delete the vocal tracks... is the most important part of the song!

eligreenmusic

So you're just trying to make an instrumental mix from the stems, is that correct?

I believe these are the unmixed, original stems as everything is still in mono and pretty un-effected in the way of compression, limiting, mixing, spreading, etc.

I put them in Ableton and exported at 24-bit, 4800, with no dithering and nothing on the master. Reduced the volume for some headroom to advoid distortion. Needless to say, it doesn't sound very good at all...

The takeaway from this is really that Max/Luke aren't usually doing anything "new" when they produce, they just write decent songs and frame them well with simple production and a few cool ear-candy FX. In this instance, the production is an up-and-down indie rock song from the early 00s.

-Mixed Addictive Drums and LASSE MÅRTÉN's live drumming

Hope that helps,

Hey, can either of you repost the multitracks?

Also, @eligreenmusic

How do you know this?

okay i've reuploaded the Session. i've also included some final mix stems (in the multitrack folder), and my project file for attempting to mix the Instrumental using the sessions to fill in the pieces missing from the final mix stems.

if you don't want something, the stuff is segregated by folder, you don't have to download the whole thing lol.

if somebody reports this one too i'm not reupping a 3rd time

And mixing is so important... you can f¨ck things up with a bad mixing.

alright i spent like 4 hours trying to recreate the proper drums from the chorus and failed miserably. the rest of the mix is improved, fixed the kick pauses, raised the high hat and strings, punched in the missing cymbals and whatnot.

in retrospect i should have saved them oggs and just used the drum track from RB2 outright instead of trying to remake it from the session file. but hindsight is 20-20, i've deleted the oggs my mans ripped many moons ago cause i thought the drum track advertised as final mix was accurate (it wasn't by a long shot)

i hope y'all enjoyed this one. i'll leave this link up because these files were all leaked by somebody else and not me. if that audacity file doesn't work, let me know

happy new year everyone, it's time for me to leave. idk how long my producer folders will be up. get them before i delete my email.

yep... those sure sound like the proper drums

I'll hold this L, I'm still leaving my stuff.

luckily, you can download each folder one at a time, so you don't have to download the audacity file if you don't want it

grazuck

Hello! Anyone can give me a link to download these stems? I Really need the violin tracks! Thanks :)

j.fco.morales

I'm not the best at mixing. I think I'm going to try this to improve my skills.

grazuck

I'm working at a rearrangement of the song with my band, to play live, and i'd hate to use fake synths (or even VSTs, still not the same, and i'd have to program them...) so the real strings tracks would be of great help... i saw a vid on youtube that has them, but it's got the vocals mixed in as well, so it's unusable (even with youtube quality).

The links posted here are all dead, maybe someone still has the stems pack saved on a drive or something?

Thanks guys :)
