I just wanted to dedicate a thread to the lovely Jessica Folcker.
She is one of my fave artists of all time and I have all her albums.

To see her fail two times at Melodifestivalen broke my heart, and I am really looking for information what she is up to now.

I going to add some youtube links here and hope to meet other Jessica fans to talk about her and her music.

I once wrote her record company and they answered there is planned to be an english album coming out. But it's way to long ago now.

Quote
Folcker was born in Täby, a Stockholm suburb, on July 9th, 1975. Her birth name is Jessica Elisabeth Angelique Folcker, and like the name proposes, she is a mixture of two cultures. Her mother is Swedish and father is from Senegal in Western Africa.

Jessica first appeared in the video of "Electric" by Leila K.

She sang the chorus and performed it even in the video!

I love Jessica too, I have her first 2 albums, but what is her last album like, the one in Swedish?? any good?

turnaround

It's difficult to describe. But it has soundwise definitely nothing to do with the first 2 albums. It's very acoustic and laid-back. Her voice still beautiful of course.

I will continue with posts and biography quotes later!  :)
And I liked it..

Alex Martin

what's the title of jessica's third album?

The biggest hit from the first album, when she simply called herself Jessica was How will I know (Who you are) (Kristian Lundin, Max Martin, Andreas Carlsson)

They are the absolute dreamteam and this song is more than you could ask for.  :thum:

And I liked it..

During this wonderful time for pop-music Jessica released one GEM after the other.

Here is a selection:

A dance remix of "To be able to love" was a hit in the US.
She called herself Jessica Folker on the 2nd album. To prevent people to pronounce it "Folcker" like "Fucker". (wikipedia)

Jessica tried to times to win Melodifestivalen. The second time only one day after having her baby.

I have heard that she would release an album on 28 may or something!

turnaround

Yes, absolutely right. Album out next week.

The single didn't enter the charts:
   WHY???

Is it a comeback or what???

turnaround

Somehow all is happening in an underground way.
A tiny label, a not very commercial sound and only the fans and some non-mainstream users seem to know she is back.

I would have never expected to hear from her again, so I am happy she is, and just hope the album will do a bit alright.
And I liked it..
