Title: Kelly Clarkson - New Album (Single: Max/Dr Luke/Claude Kelly)
Post by: PG on November 11, 2008, 01:49:00 AM
People at PopJustice are saying the likely lead single for Kelly Clarkson's new album (which is due out early next year, probably) is called "Life Would Suck (Without You)" or "My Life Would Suck Without You" and is written by Max Martin, Dr. Luke, and Claude Kelly.  It's definitely true that Kelly has a song by that name by those three writers--I just don't know if it's definitely the lead single or not.  For proof of the song's existence, check out ASCAP:

http://www.ascap.com/ace/search.cfm?requesttimeout=300&mode=results&searchstr=433631699&search_in=i&search_type=exact&search_det=t,s,w,p,b,v&results_pp=30&start=1

I don't really like the song title, but I do want Kelly to release music I like again, so I really hope this is good.

I'm happy she's finally back to them, don't forget she was the first person to actually bring out the Pop/rock in them worldwide.

God!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so so glad Kelly is back with Max' song, after she failed by sales with her weak last album I'm pretty sure her management will care to collect as strong team of producers and songwriters like they did for "Breakaway" to bring Kelly back to the top.

It's very good, another hit on the way! Max could have done more songs with Britney instead though... Kelly C. is OK, but I'm not a fan at all.

I'm glad so many other people are glad she's coming back :D  Fingers crossed the songs are good.

Here's some more information--from Entertainment Weekly (http://hollywoodinsider.ew.com/2008/11/kelly-clarkson.html)--although really it doesn't tell us that much.  I hope the country thing isn't that true or that strong in its influence (not that I dislike country!  I just don't want it from Kelly):

QuoteKelly Clarkson, the first and arguably most successful American Idol winner, announced on her blog in late October that she has finished recording her fourth album. And while no release date or title has been set, producer Dr. Luke (real name: Lukasz Gottwald), who has worked with Avril Lavigne, Britney Spears, Katy Perry, and, most recently, Weezer, tells EW.com that a new single could be out as soon as December -- and that it will arrive without a hint of country twang, as some had speculated.

If anything, the song, by virtue of its title, "My Life Would Suck Without You," and the production team behind it, could be seen as a Part B to Clarkson's monster 2004 hit, "Since U Been Gone." As it turns out, Dr. Luke says he started developing the new song with pop maestro and "Since U Been Gone" collaborator Max Martin years ago. "After 'Since U Been Gone,' we wrote all these songs for Kelly," Dr. Luke says. "This one, which I think is the first single, we had the chorus a while ago and added the verse more recently. They were going to have it out on Nov. 20, but it just got too late. So now they're thinking Dec. 8 for a worldwide release, but I wouldn't be surprised if that ends up being early January." (A rep for Clarkson says the single has yet to be chosen.)

With a new team in place (including manager Narvel Blackstock, Reba McEntire's husband) and the drama of My December behind her, Clarkson exuded nothing but confidence in the studio, Dr. Luke says. "It's sick. She sings a song in two hours and kills it. You're just, like, 'holy s---.' She has powerful lungs. She's like the Lance Armstrong of vocal chords."

i'm so excited about this

although i really hope she doesn't release on december 9th. britney's releasing her dr luke track sometime around then and i don't want the two songs to have to compete against eachother...

Post by: Rebecca on November 14, 2008, 10:42:44 AM
ooh, pop maestro!!

I'm very excited, sounds there's going to be a few Max/Luke songs on Kelly's album, I hope they make it. I imagine that quite a few songwriters would compete to be on Kelly's album.

Yes, Starstruck, I hope it's not the same time as Britney's album. I want Britney to be at No.1 and then Kelly to be at No.1. hopefully the record company will think of that too.

There's quite an interesting video snippet on YouTube with Lukasz Gottwald and Clive Davis discussing a demo of Max and Luke for Kelly Clarkson's new album.  (It's from a TV documentary called 'Iconoclasts" on Sundance Channel).  I had trouble with the URL link, sorry can't post that,  but if you type in the following on YouTube search........

Kelly Clarkson My Life Would Suck Without You tidbit

....the video will come right up.

No no, it was just a joke for Alex. UNFORTUNATELY Kristian Lundin won't produce with the Maratone team. I have no idea how the relationship between the songwriters was at the end of the Cheiron adeventure but I guess it was done in a friendly way...

Clarkson's possible first single, according to song producer Dr. Luke in Entertainment Weekly magazine, could be a song called "My Life Would Suck Without You". Kelly's label , RCA Records has stated they have yet to choose a first single. A possible single release time period of late November to early January was also stated, but not confirmed by the label

Apparently the song is gonna debut between Januray the 10th to the 13th...

The video will be directed by Wayne Isham, the same guy who directed "I'm Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman" from Britney, "Bye Bye Bye" from N Sync  and "I Want It That Way" from BSB, looks like that guy likes Cheiron and Max!...

"Kelly Clarkson will reportedly return January 19th when "My Life Would Suck Without You," the first single from her upcoming fourth album, hits radio. Rolling Stone got an early listen to a few tunes from the still-untitled disc (expected out March 17th) and can report they are, in two words, totally awesome. Reports that Clarkson was making a country record were incorrect — the new album is stocked with primo pop hits reminiscent of Breakaway.

good news guys , pop hits in the new album , not country!

Title: Re: Kelly Clarkson - New Album (Single: Max/Dr Luke/Claude Kelly)
Post by: Rebecca on December 31, 2008, 03:10:26 AM
Yes, Kelly's song will be song of the year 2009, there is little competition.

I doubt Britney will have a hit unless she releases If U Seek Amy, Katy Perry doesn't have any more hits from her record, Pink will be touring and have some minor hits, I think Rihanna has already released all songs from her album, Lesley Roy will continue to be overlooked, everyone's over Beyonce and Mariah, Gwen Stefani has just had a baby and probably won't record for a while, so that leaves it pretty clear for Kelly to have the big hit! Though I'm sure I've forgotten someone!!
With Kelly having had such a flop last album, her record company will be doing everything they can regarding promotion.

BSB won't have a big hit, no matter how good their album is/if they record with Max, the general public is sadly over them, but I'm happy to be wrong on this.

That cover seems to be the official one, I liked it but personally I think it doesn't really fit with the song title, unless she is singing about that lollipop ;D

lyrics of ''My life would suck without you'':

Guess this means you're sorry
You're standing at my door
Guess this means you take back
What you said before
Like how much you wanted
Anyone but me
Said you'd never come back
But here you are again

Cuz we belong together now
Forever united here somehow
You got a piece of me
And honestly
My life would suck without you

Maybe I was stupid for telling you goodbye
Maybe I was wrong for tryin' to pick a fight
I know that I've got issues
But you're pretty messed up too
Anyway, I found out I'm nothing without you

Cuz we belong together now
Forever united here somehow
You got a piece of me
And honestly
My life would suck without you

Being with you is so dysfunctional
I really shouldn't miss you, but I can't let go
Oh yeah

Cuz we belong together now
Forever united here somehow
You got a piece of me
And honestly
My life would suck without you

I cant wait more for the leak!!

Hi Guys, I havent read through all this thread, but did you see the Youtube clip of Dr Luke and (I think) Clive Davis discussing the song?

http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=0bBxDnXlN3s

Anyone know where this clip is from? Id like to watch the whole thing, they cut Luke off as he is talking at the end!

A Review from Popjustice:

They said that it's similar to Since U Been Gone:

QuoteWhat's it like? Well, you cannot escape the fact that the intro is so similar to 'Since U Been Gone' you will probably think you are indeed listening to 'Since U Been Gone'. Lyrically the song does actually lend itself to thoughts of being a sort of 'Since U Been Gone Part Two' and one could, at a push, see it picking up that song's story four years on with Kelly realising that despite the earlier song's defiant howl of independence she does, in fact, want her ex back. 'My Life Would Suck Without You' is about the fella returning tail between legs ("guess this means you take back what you said before, like how much you wanted anyone but me") and a relationship starting up again and being quite jolly in spite of all the previous nonsense.

The chorus goes "we belong together now, forever united here somehow, you got a piece of me and honestly my life would suck without you". Except it's not just "my life would suck without you", it's "my life (MY LIFE!) would suck (WOULD SUCK!) without you". "I know that I've got issues but you're pretty messed up too" is another good line; we also like the middle eight bit with "being with you is so dysfunctional, I really shouldn't miss you, but I can't let you go".

It is structured like this:

1. Long intro with 'Since U Been Gone' guitary noise.

2. Vocal joins guitary nose with drumbeat.

3. Song explodes into chorus.

4. Song pulls back into second verse.

5. Chorus

6. Middle eight: everything drops out, 'Since U Been Gone' guitar noise starts up underneath vocal, drumbeats and Since U Been Gone guitar noise lead into big whooshing noise into...

7. Chorus which leads to hilarious 80s rolling synth drumfill thing (we don't know what it is but you'll know what we mean when you hear it) which leads to...

8. Final chorus, sudden end, guitar noise, 'fin'.

There is no bridge. NO BRIDGE! Production is halfway between 'Since U Been Gone' and Pink's 'So What', with some drum machines chucked in. The song is three minutes and thirty two seconds long - only two seconds away from the Optimum Pop Duration - and comes in at about 145bpm. This BPM means that nightclub rotation will inspire more in the way of hands in the air/pointing/shouting than proper dancing. The song is better than anything Kelly did before 'Since U Been Gone' and it's also better than anything she's done since 'Since U Been Gone', so it should keep people happy. It is a pop song.

sounds like Hot N Cold but I LOVE IT !!!!!
Hope this will reach #1....

If a sufficient song like Womanizer reached the top spot in the standings you have no doubt that it can do MLWSWY?  ;D
Womanizer was different though. It doesn't sound like everything else on the radio right now. MLWSWY reminds me of Who Knew/Hot N Cold/SUBG/It's All Your Fault/etc.

Amazing song!!

Though it's not a new sound it's still excellent. Pink would have been great on this song.

Is Luke better than Kristian??? no, not yet (for me), Luke is still yet to write a song I love without Max/another hit songwriter.

I really hope this goes to No.1!

Pink, wow, she recorded it too or it was just a demo that was for her at the beginning? Maybe I would like it even more if Pink sang it...

I'm worried about the album...
There are rumors saying that Long Shot (an old song by Katy Perry) will be included along with other 2 cover songs (Why You Wanna Bring Me Down and All I Ever Wanted by Aranda)...
now Kelly has stated that her second single might be (I Do Not)Hook Up which is a cover of another unreleased Katy Perry song...I think it sounds generic and completely boring...so in total that's 4 cover songs?????????????Oh no.....I was hoping a Ryan Tedder song for her second single....

I know what you mean. I love the song (a lot more than you do obviously) but I think there are better Max/Luke songs that haven't had this success.
This song is so successful so soon because it's Kelly, all her fans must have been disappointed with her last album so now that she is coming out with something commercial they are more enthusiastic than ever. I want her to have huge success with this album.

My Life Would Suck Without You is No.2 on itunes in Australia

''Womanizer'' is still doing very well on Billboard chart.....where is "so what'' ?

the album''Circus'' by Britney includes up to date pop music, something different, and a great mix of dance songs, pop songs and ballads, i swear i love ''Circus'' more and more when i listen to the other singers copies and expired music.

'my life would suck' is an expired nothing new song, and you said it yourself this album will include many copies and i call this expired music.

Just so you know Ahmed that I prefer So What to Womanizer.... and there is no comparsion between So What and Womanizer, So What is a much bigger hit in the BB hot 100 and the whole world, it's now at # 20 jumped from 25 on the BB hot 100, the song is making a massive spins on the radios, Britney's Womanizer just reached its number in the spins, and we all know that Funhouse is not doing very good in the US, and everybody is still wondering why, but it is still huge in Europe, and when I say huge I mean it.

And regardless of the copy and paste thing in MLWSWY, I do prefer it to Womanizer as well, that song is OK but it is sooo "Blackout", and you know how much I love Blackout *pun intended*

the album "Circus'' has great pop songs like Amnesia,Rock Me In,Shattered Glass,Kill the lights, Out From Under, If U seek Amy,Unusual You, Phonography, Mmm Papi, My Baby, Quicksand, Lace And Leather.....in my opinion all these songs are better than 'so what' and 'my life would suck' which are expired songs.

Britney is renewable, i read a lot of previews about ''Circus'' praising the way how Britney can adapt to different musical styles, and that makes her different and better than the other singers who copy their work.

the only style i would love to be copied is the old cheiron style, but as long as this style is not existed anymore , i won't cry over nothing, now it is time to move on.

No comparison between Womanizer and MLWSWY, Womanizer is good but ordinary, MLWSWY is amazing, original or not.

Britney is a bigger star in USA than Pink so it's no surprise she's doing better.

So What left the top 10, but still doing very good, and don't forget that its top 10 run was AMAZING, it performed pretty GREAT, plus it debuted at # 9 on BB hot 100, and it managed to stay on top 5 for WEEKS, unlike Womanizer which debuted on the Bubbling Under 100 first and then got to 96 and jumped to # 1, and Womanizer's success wasn't INITIAL at all, overall, So What is a much bigger hit in the BB Hot 100 and the whole world.

Womanizer has sold over 3.5 million copies worldwide.

And whatever, Womanizer is a much better song than MLWSWY is. I'm a huge fan of Max's work and I adore Kelly, but I'm not going to sugarcoat my opinion on this song. It's just a weak effort. At least Womanizer is fresh and different, Britney used completely unknown producers for the track. That's something Kelly could never pull off. Her career is nothing without Max and Luke. Thank God Britney branched off and took risks, I'd hate for her to be in P!nk and Kelly's positions - making generic track after generic track. They need to back off and let Max get re-inspired because his well is beginning to run dry.

Exactly. U can't compare a pop song with a pop/rock song and if you don't understand why so what did better than u and your hand and cuz i can the answer is easy.....so what was first single taken from pink new album while UAYH was the 3th and(but this is my personal opinion)( So what is amazing while UAYH/CIC are good songs ;)

Baby One More Time is HUGE we know that, and don't forget it was released in a different era, now we are in the digital era, so I guess "So What" can be compared to Baby One More Time in Max's career.

And how is Womanizer fresh? It's sooo Blackout inspired, dull dance-robotish beats and the constant repetition of the song title (Gimme More + Radar) much?, I like the song, but it's not fresh at all.

Oh and stop praising "So What" so much and comparing it to "Womanizer". Baby One More Time is STILL and will probably always be Max's most successful song. Deal with it.

i have been saying that ''Circus'' is great album and we shouldn't compare it to Britney's old albums because they are in different eras, but nobody wants to listen lol.

So what sold 6.500.000 copyes all over the world. Womanizer "only" 1.400.000.

Do you note any difference?

They need to back off and let Max get re-inspired because his well is beginning to run dry.

great say starstruck25, Britney used unknown producers for''womanizer''
it also happened with bloodshy and avant, they were unknown before ''toxic''

Britney is the only singer in the world who can have hit with anyone, she makes the producers famous, and build their names.

Myrwais for madonna, unknow producer worldwide success.
Redone 4 ladygaga. Unknow producer worldwide success.
Stargate 4 blue....at time unknow producers worldwide success.
Guy Chambers 4 Robbie Williams unknow producer worldwide success and many others ex.

Bloodshy&Avant weren't unknow producers before toxic.

They wrote for example a world hit for christina milian, the famous From a.m to p.m

They won many awards with this song!!!!!!!!!

Ahmed can you try to be objective when you talk about britney?
For you everything she does is the top....is an exaggeration for me.

i said i hate ''in the zone'' and ''blackout'' aren't those Britney spears albums?!

and i think no body can deny that Britney's name helps the producers songs to be listened by a bigger and wider fan base.

it is my personal opinion after all.

Alex , you said in a previous post that the members of this forum has different tastes in music BUT ONLY ALEX HAS THE TRUTH

this say proves that you are the most UNOBJECTIVE  member here,

you are not objective when you talk about Max Martin songs, for you everything he does is the top and masterpiece, while most of his recent work is very ordinary and simple, not that style of music that make you full of joy.

1st.When i said "I have the truth" there was a SMILE like this ;D ;D ;D after my words.Clearly was a joke.Nobody has the truth we are human and we make mistake everyday.

2nd. I'd never said every martin's song is a masterpiece or amazing. U have a bad memory.
I always said I kissed a girl isn't a good song but average. I like only the guitar arrangement.
I said martin's songs 4 vanessa hudgens are poor but probably you forgot this and remember only what you want.

What?... I was talking about "Single Sales", you can't compare album sales to single sales, albums sell a lot more specially by bigger acts, eras don't usually matter in album sales, for example an album from a bigger act sold 600k in 2002 and sold 450 in 2007, is OK with me, it's quite good, but the chart performance is IMPORTANT to me, in other words how does the album do in the whole world.

Yes, the song "(I Do Not) Hook Up is written by Katy Perry, Kara Dioguardi, Greg Wells and yes, seems it will be the second single
http://nw.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx?id=733463

Per wikipedia, confirmed tracks are:

    * "My Life Would Suck Without You" (Max Martin, Lukasz Gottwald, Claude Kelly) [5][6] — 3:34
    * "All I Ever Wanted" (Sam Watters, Louis Biancaniello, Aranda Dameon)[7]
    * "Why You Wanna Bring Me Down" (Sam Watters, Louis Biancaniello, Aranda Dameon)[7]
    * "(I Do Not) Hook Up"[8] (Katy Perry, Kara DioGuardi, Greg Wells)[9] — 3:14
    * "Save You" (Ryan Tedder, Aimee Proal)[10][11]
    * "If No One Will Listen"[12]

Will this mean that it's just one Max Martin song?
I know it's Wikipedia, but this is a worry.

I kinda like 2003/2004....We had Avril Lavigne,Hilary Duff's first album,Kelly's Miss Independent,Christina's Fighter,Fefe Dobson,Stacie Orrico,Liz Phair,Lillix,Skye Sweetnam,Lucy Woodward,Michelle Branch's second album,Evanescence,Clay Aiken, and a lot of female pop/rock musicians starts to emerge...In 2004 there were Avril's second album,Kelly Clarkson,Ashlee Simpson's debut,Lindsay Lohan,etc...2003/2004 was the time when female pop/rock became so popular...But the Hot 100 charts was always topped by hiphop acts...I think they weren't that terrible at that time compared to how they sound NOW....I hate 2006/2007 , a lot of hiphop shit and Timbaland sound....Timbaland's best works are his earlier works with Aaliyah and Brandy's Afrodisiac album, not Nelly Furtado,Justin Timberlake,or whoever it is....

official tracklisting is out....14 songs,16 in Deluxe Edition but looks like there'll be no more Max's songs :(...and a lot of COVERS !!!! Long Shot,Hook Up,Save You,Whyawannabringmedown,All I Ever Wanted,If No One Will Listen....the bonus track The Day We Fell Apart has leaked...sounds a bit Pink....and I'm quite surprised to see that Ready from the leaked demo made the final cut...I love that song, can't wait for the full mastered version !!

Well, after few weeks I can say for sure "My Life Would Suck Without You" totally doesn't work for me, I'm trying to listen to it again, but it's totally not interesting for me though I love Kelly's voice. "The Day We Fell Apart" is awesome song, I've just downloaded it and it has much more new for me and much more expression!

I've lost my interest in BSB since I've heard that they're going to work with some cheap untalented hiphop musicians for their album...and Max's songs won't be pop I think...He might do some pop/rock like what he did in Never Gone and that doesn't sound so good with them....

Tbh, "My Life Would Suck" is really generic and boring. There's nothing special about it at all. "Since U Been Gone" is miles better.

1.Behind These Hazel Eyes
2.Since U Been Gone(the chorus and bridge helped it to win against MLWSWY)
3.My Life Would Suck Without You
4.Miss Independent
5.Gone
6.You Found Me
7.You Thought Wrong
don't know why I don't like Walk Away,I think it sounds generic...the word 'Gone' has appeared 3 times on Kelly's songs...Since U Been Gone,Gone and the Ryan Tedder-produced Already Gone which might be her 3rd single...

OH MY GOD...I've heard the clips...
like rollingstone said, this album is totally AWESOME !!!!!
her version of Hook Up is very different,it has the energy from Since U Been Gone...If I Can't Have You is the only electro-pop feel song besides MLWSWY (Ryan Tedder)...my favs are Cry and Don't Let Me Stop You,very single potential !! even Whyyouwannabringmedown sounds good too !!! this is waaayyyy above my expectations....GREAT JOB,KELLY !!! this might be my album of the year...the only song I don't really like is only I Want You..but I'll wait for the full length album first...I'M SOOOO EXCITED !!!!! she made some songs even Long Shot sound like Max/Luke production !! the album deserves the promotion like Good Girl Gone Bad

Her, P!nk, and Katy are so interchangeable to me right now. It literally sounds like they're singing backup vocals for her on some of the songs....

For me, probably Kelly is my favourite, though haven't heard the clips of her new album

Yeah, I like Kelly the most personality-wise.... but I think P!nk is the better artist/performer. I don't know where to place Katy yet (she's kind of a mess).

Cry and Don't Let Me Stop You sounds very Avril IMO...especially the arrangement of Don't Let Me Stop You...it should've appeared on Avril's fourth album ;D.......I'm in love with this album, more than Brtney's Circus...(Circus had some terrible songs there)..the beginning of If I Can't Have You sounds like Veronicas' Hook Me Up I think...vocally I prefer Kelly, but I love Pink's stage presence and creativity and Katy's sense of fashion..

I like "Already Gone" more than I like "MLWSWY".  :-X

And I like Katy's reject - "I Do Not Hook Up". That's about it.

The album is pretty generic. It's obvious Kelly's heart isn't in this one.

I'll give it 7.5/10, I prefer P!nk's album.

Circus > Funhouse > All I Ever Wanted > One Of The Boys

Already Gone is the standout track on the album. It's very pretty.

I don't care much for "Halo", either. But the beat is the only similarity... I think you'll love Kelly's.

Same with "Fly On The Wall"... the beat is the only similarity. The actual song is completely different though. Kinda like a "Hot N Cold" and "Nothing In This World" type thing.

Quiz & Larossi did Dont Let Me Stop You ,right??
it's very unexpected...probably the best track on the album !!
I thought it was going to sound like Il Divo or something...but it's pure pop/rock with so much energy...very catchy and it reminds me of Avril's Under My Skin album....

sorry, I'm not a fan of Taylor either. I agree she's beautiful, but I don't like her voice and I thought that her songs are quite ordinary, well the 2 songs that I've heard of hers (Love Story and the one she sang at the Grammy's), I haven't heard her album.

Yeah, it doesn't seem that MLWSWY is going to be as huge as the Katy Perry or Pink songs, oh well!

IKAG was risky, new, and different. MLWSWY is just a SUBG rip-off. Just knowing Kelly's history with My Decemeber and Clive Davis, it's so obvious they're trying to recreate her Breakaway success. She doesn't even seem to like the song much her damn self.

Actually Hot and cold is a copy paste of Paris's Nothing in this world. You can sing one song on the other one!  :P So Hot and Cold is not original but really really powerful, I really love it, for me it's a bit better than MLWSWY but the song are about the same...

I'm glad that MLWSWY is doing well.

I bought Kelly's album the other day, I think it's quite terrible! I've listened to it a few times and I don't think I'll go back to it again. Big disappointment to me.

I like All I Ever Wanted and If I Can't Have You and Long Shot is quite good but that's really it.

Pity they couldn't have afforded more Max/Luke songs.

Nope, no thank you to Max

Kelly just gives a big general thank you. "I want to say thank you to everyone who has been involved in my career from the start..." " to everyone who's been involved in my team..."
also thanks her band, crew, family and God, no mention of any songwriters.

I saw her on tv talking about her album and MLWSWY and also no mention of songwriters.

I bought the cd with the bonus dvd, I haven't watched it yet.

I agree! It seems that they (the producers, Kelly whoever) are trying to cover about 4 or 5 styles in one record - there's a nod toward country music with some of the ballads, some songs sounds like 60s re-makes, and others have punk/hard rock elements!

Its not a cohesive record at all.

MLWSWY is the only stand out track to me, it reminds me of 'So What' on Pinks record - both 'So What' and 'MLWSWY' are uplifting, free and pure musical joy. The rests of the tracks seem a bit forced somehow. (on both records)

Just my opinion though.  ;)

Kelly did perform it live on a couple of TV shows, but the sound is generally really better and the bands play at  their best on Saturday Night Live.  Maybe 'cuz it;s late at night, which helps with  the vibe!

Kelly's album has debuted at No.1 in USA with 254,111 copies according to:

http://hitsdailydouble.com/sales/salescht.cgi

I can't imagine it will do as well as Breakaway.

#1 wonderful!!
I put that high score on the MLWSWY effect and on the fact she has a strong and faithful fanbase. According to me, the album will go down farly soon though...

I have a strong feeling that is she was wise enough and release the right singles from this album it will linger for a while in the chart and end up being selling fairly well.

@ Rebecca, Breakaway sold more than 6M copic in the US alone, there's no way for this album or any other album nowdays to sell that much, the last albums I remember has sold this much were

All the right reasons ( more than 7M in the US alone)
Some Hearts (about 7M)
The Emancipation of Mimi (5M)

If you look to the US charts now you'll see the most successful album will sell from 3 to 4M, and believe it's not happenning that often now.

oh yeah, it's no.1 totally because of the MLWSWY effect

Unexpected, I do agree, albums do not sell that much anymore, I was just being a bit mean because I really can't stand this album, it's the worst album I've heard in a long time, I'm surprised at some of the favourable reviews I've read.

I'm very interested to see how it sells, there is so much promotion, it might end up doing well.

I like the performance!
You can see it's hard for her to sing the chorus though, she hardly hits the notes even though the tone of the song has been pitched down...

sorry but yes, it's just really not my thing, I Do Not Hook Up is okay, If I Can't Have You is good and is my favourite song after MLWSWY, I don't really like Don't Let Me Stop You (just more yelling) and I really can't stand Cry. As for the other songs, I really hate Save You, too soppy and hate the rest of the album, too much yelling and the production is too heavy.

I liked Kelly's performance on American Idol, funny she said her album had all these different genres: dance, urban, country. Really? all I hear is yelling and soppy power ballads. Kelly has an amazing voice. I'm really disappointed with her album.

Yeah, I would assume the same as her album is much worse than Britney's, however it's not always about quality. It will be interesting to see.

Seems so! I'm glad she's having success because of MLWSWY as well which has given her good album sales.

I really like the new single cover too. I wonder what the b-side is? would be nice if it was a remix of MLWSWY
