Oh thank you Rebecca!

I did only buy the normal version bcause the BonusVersion was so expensive here.

The only reason I would have bought it was that there might be some Max footage.

Thanks you tell us what he says about him :)
And I liked it..

Yeah, the bonus version was almost double the price here!

Anyway, here's what James Blunt said about Max and the song Carry You Home. I tried to be as accurate as possible but it may not be perfect.

James Blunt:
"Max Martin called me up and said he had a song idea and that I needed to fly out to see him immediately, which is a pretty good description of how Max Martin is in the first place. He is marginally psychotic but great fun and very special. And so I said okay I'll come on out, so I flew to see him in Sweden and he sat me down and he sang me I think 4 lines of melody and a couple of lyrical ideas.  At the time I was kind of a bit shocked that I had flown out for these 4 lines but very quickly I could see exactly what he was on about, logically I could see he was really on to something very special, also his enthusiasm and his passion for what he does is a great inspiration in itself. And it was a really good experience working with him. I've had a few songwriting experiences but many of them have been with my regular mates, a guy called Jimmy Hogarth who has worked on this album again with me and a guy called Sacha Scarbecks. So to go in and work with someone else who I think just calls people obviously friends in and other musicians such as myself, it was a really new experience and I'm very grateful for the results. It's a really solid and strong song that really captures the essence of the moment."

He is the best......i want to talk to this Martin Sandberg...who are you?...du verkar as cool snubbe
If you can dream it, you can be it.

Rebecca

i know, he is the best. I liked that he called him marginally psychotic!

Alex Martin

I didn't like the song it's too slow and very bore and James voice annoys me too.

NIKLAS"NiCkY"

i think this carry you home is really good...really love the lyrics and the soft music....and james voice is really crazy cool

What I like about the lyrics in "Carry you home" is that they vividly paint a scene. A scene of a caring boyfriend who is awake and who is watching over his girlfriend who is vulnerable in some way. Perhaps she has alcholic or drug related problems? He is pondering if it's best for both that he breakes up but he knows that he won't do that. Some of the lyrical choices seems a bit contradictory though and some seems unnecessary clichéd or cheesy, especially when sung by Blunt. For instance the line "Trouble is her only friend and he's back again" seems cheesy to me, albeit very catchy so it might still be a good line. The line "And they were all born pretty in New York City tonight, and someone's little girl was taken from the world tonight, under the Stars and Stripes" seems both cheesy and clichéd. I mean New York is mentioned in so many songs.

Regarding contradictions I'm not sure if he is somehow carrying her home after he has left her. Ok i know he is singing about their life and recurring events and songs often contain repeating lyrics but it would make for a better story and music video if the lyrics were a bit more chronological.

Might be some faults in these lyrics though (compared to the real song). The lyric sites differ on several lines.

Now I'm not a native english speaker so I really don't have any authority on lyrical critique.

Rebecca

That's a nice description, after reading it I've had a few more listens and taken more notice of the lyrics.
I think she may be dying: 'I'm watching you breathing for the last time'

I need to pay more attention to the lyrics.
It's great how you much thought you put into it.
And I liked it..

After listening plenty of times to the new album and "Carry you home" I am a bit irritated.

I like the song, no doubt, but I can feel zero Max in there. It's like he seemed to put all his characteristical features away and wrote a 100% Blunt song.

It's of course a compliment, as he manages to write another style that perfectly but somehow I wished there was something more unique about that song when two great songwriters collide.

And I liked it..

ahmed

the music seems ok,and i think max should think about how the singer will perform and give him the correct material.and its good to find varity in the music.

For me i can here a little max sound in that song. i really like it

The song Carry You Home is similar to I WILL BE written by Max for Avril Lavigne.
It's not true my dear friend TURNAROUND that in Carry You Home "YOU can feel zero Max in this song"
The melody in the chorus is the same.
Listen better ;D

Apparently the third single in the UK that will be released in March will be "Carry you home".  ;D
And I liked it..
