Well, i sing and people around me say I have a pretty good voice, for pop or pop/rock at least. I also like editing vocals and I can also play the piano. Thanks for creating this new section by the way! :)

It is a great idea.. I'm a songwriter and I sing (at least the backchorus)...

We need a song!! So if you're a songwriter, that couldn't be better! :D
I'm already in to do the leading vocals!  ;D

woww perfect , and I think andrea can be the producer .

Eddie - songwritter and background vocals
Sabine - lead vocals
Andrea - producer

the song of the forum  go by the right way  ;D

Actually I'm finishing the melody for the track that Andrea uploaded some weeks ago. I could do the lyrics too but I guess someone wants to put something in it... So, it might help for the vowel sounds pattern.

I guess I'll have it ready by thursday... I'm kindda busy these days... (but with some time for my new addiction: this forum)... ;D
Title: Re: Forum members write a Cheiron song together
Post by: *Sabine* on November 17, 2008, 08:36:56 PM
Talk about addiction!!  I'm intoxicated to this forum!!!

That sounds perfect... and the name Andrea sounds good for a producer. Maybe Alex (Martin) should co produce! Alex, you don't wanna do it?? :P You could do sufficient lyrics at least! Your mission, if you accept it, is to put the word "sufficient" in the lyrics of the song! :P
Title: Re: Forum members write a Cheiron song together
Post by: Alex Martin on November 17, 2008, 08:46:06 PM
Ok i do the lyrics but i doubt i can do verses more sufficient than "ain't no lie baby bye bye bye" ;D ;D ;D

Gosh... I like so much the track Andrea uploaded, I have written like 5 diffrent songs to it... It willtake a lil bit more...Stay tune...

By the way... What is it about the word "Sufficient", did I miss something in here? lol

are there still people who are interested in composing a common song?

I would.....but under one important condition: it's gotta be done seriously.  What I mean is, it should be FUN, but people need to agree to follow up on time (like professionals) with whatever they agree to contribute, even if it's just one bit of melody or lyrics, production, whatever.....  Unfortunately, I've found this to be a problem with online collabs.

I'd be interested too. And I fully agree with George.

Haha, better count me out then, though not because I don't take it seriously, just the opposite... but I tend to get hung up on things and spend forever trying to perfect them. :D I don't think it's the right writing environment for me, but I'd love to see what you all come up with together.

Hi, great that Axel & Eddie would like to give it a shot.....what do you think of the idea of starting with choosing a really great title? We could post any ideas we have here, and then vote on the best one. I've got a bunch of title ideas on my computer I could post here.  Thought of this because 90% of the buzz around  "Walks Like Rihanna" comes from the title alone! Half their work was done before anybody even heard the preview :-)

Eddie, are you into production at all?  Or do we need to get somebody on that end in this with us?  Like Axel, it's not my strength as I've always worked with a pro engineer (who I paid) on my stuff. I can use GarageBand for rough ideas to share, but not for final product obviously.

And Eddie, since you brought it up, maybe we could donate our second million to Denniz PoP foundation, lol?  Seriously, it's a noble idea you have, but I myself need to work on this with the idea of a great song and hopefully some money out of it too as an end goal. Not to mention hopefully help us all along as writers trying to break in. Hopefully we can we all agree on that :D

Well, you might've heard this before, but here's a link to a song I wrote chorus/verse/bridge melody to and most of lyrics. Co-writer wrote the "B'' hook part melody and lyrics ("when the winter comes....")      I played/arranged all the parts on the demo.  Pro feedback I've gotten liked melody, but stressed production needs major work, and lyrics/title need an edgier concept. All of which I agree with 100%.  Soooo.....at this point, I guess my main strength is melody :D      (Lemme know if you have any problems with link.....Soundcloud's been acting up with me since they made new version)   http://soundcloud.com/brightredsongs

One thing I could contribute is demo vocals if you're interested. George, I remember your "Summertime Crush" track, and yeah, great melody work I reckon!

Cool, absolutely, in fact I think one of my strongest assets is tweaking chords and notes here and there, as long as I don't get too carried away. :)

I'm more into melody, choruses and lyrics. I got some ideas, but I'm not so good with programming.

I got this chorus for a song that I've titled (by now) "Back 4 More" and a second one titled, "Unbreakable".

I will post them later, just vocals. You choose the more suitable or the one you think it's better.

So at first we should make a list what we need and then we need appropriate people:

Songwriter(s) (lyrics and melodies)
Singer(s)
Producer(s)
Mixing/Master Engineer(s)

And maybe we can build teams for each part

Thanks Joshua -- I'm extremely happy you liked those!   I actually have a chorus for "It's The Love, Stupid" (just me vocal and acoustic guitar) very rough...I'll put it on Z Share later.  Don't have any melodies yet for "Wham!", but kind of a rough concept for it.  Which of those two titles -- just as titles -- do you like best?
Title: Re: Forum members write a Cheiron song together

I already have a rhyme for the Wham! song haha:

I want you to be my girl,
cause me without you is like Wham! without George Michael!

Oh yeah I get the concept, I think it's great... just that some people might take it as "Wham! was nothing without George Michael". You know, like saying "*NSync without Justin" or something, which makes a great statement, it just doesn't say much for the other members haha.
Title: Re: Forum members write a Cheiron song together
Post by: B Steady on May 06, 2013, 04:02:46 PM
btw you couldn't say BSB without Brian/AJ/Nick/Kevin/Howie because they were all so damn important for the band ... that's why they're the best band ever!!!

Also, what do you guys think.....like I said I have a complete blank slate on what is would be musically, but just now I got a flash that maybe a reggae type beat like "One More Night'" might be good, with only a couple of chords, really catchy bass line.....sort of reminds of the 80's & 90's...

I think you're on the right track, I wouldn't go down the full on dance-pop route personally just because it's been done to death, so something different would definitely be welcome. You could always call it "_ without _" or something similar, and then reference different examples throughout the song. Wham! without George, Jackson 5 without Michael, *NSync without Justin. Just as long as no-one sues haha.

Actually now I'm thinking it might be better not to clutter it up with a bunch of other metaphors (I see what you mean about other groups, though) as sometimes less is more -- one good idea per song -- people can only handle so much.

Yeah, keep it simple, it doesn't really need more than one reference if you can write a really strong chorus around the one... I think the whole "me without you is like..." theme is perfect, people are referencing stars at the moment but not in this way.

I'm down for producer/songwriter.

If we wanna do this, we gotta have a beat and then we can look for good melodies on top of it, then lyrics ect....I can start it off if you guys are down! Then I send the wav files to another producer and he finishes it off.

It sounds like a good idea, but it was posted 4 years ago and nothing has been done yet. We should choose a genre at first, then make a draft with melodies and everything we need to finally tell each one what to do (Write, play any instrument, etc)
Title: Re: Forum members write a Cheiron song together

Maybe we should start with a chord progression. I can do some production and start the writing from that.
