Woah, I didn't see an Agnetha album coming. What a perfect combination though (Jörgen)... I'm expecting something special.
So it begins...

And a nice pic. The other guy is Peter Nordahl who co-produced the album.
http://www.peternordahl.com/agnetha-faltskog
QuoteAgnetha has been working with renowned, Grammy-nominated songwriter/producer Jorgen Elofsson – who has been responsible for hits by Britney Spears, Kelly Clarkson, Celine Dion and Westlife, among others – and acclaimed producer/arranger Peter Nordahl on her brand new album.
"She wanted to make music again," says Elofsson, "We could feel that. She had been thinking about it. Basically, she's a musician, a songwriter/singer who hasn't done that for a while. We saw her open up, become much happier, with music again in her life."
"A" features one of Agnetha first co-writes in many years: "I hadn't written any music for a long, long time," she says. "But I sat at the piano, and suddenly it was there."
Anticipated by millions of ABBA fans worldwide, Agnetha's brand new material is being released by Universal Music Group, the global music leader. Max Hole, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Universal Music Group International, added: "You can imagine the excitement that all of us felt at the prospect of Agnetha making new music. So we were determined that she would choose Universal to bring that music to the world, and we are gratified that she did. This is a dream project for so many people inside our company, and for Agnetha's fans around the globe."
The most anticipated new album of 2013, "A" was recorded and produced by Jörgen Elofsson and Peter Nordahl: "We wanted to make this as if Agnetha hadn't entered ABBA," says Elofsson. "We were interested in what she sounded like if she hadn't been in the group. And yet it's important that she comes across as we remember her to be."
I didn't realise Jörgen was working on the whole album! This just gets better and better. Plus the co-writes with Gary and Carole should be interesting. I'm looking forward to this, it will be beautiful classic Swedish pop.
By the way, the video is now officially up.

Great pop song!
It's so great to hear a key change in pop music again, and this is a really good one when it hits! I can definitely hear this being played alot on Adult Contemporary radio all over the place....let's hope we do :-)
PopJustice gave the song a really nice write up on their "Big Song" 0f the day http://www.popjustice.com/songs/agnetha-faltskog-when-you-really-loved-someone/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=r They also said in a Tweet there's another snippet out of a song that "sounds like ABBA AND the Carpenters" lol -- gotta see now if that's the one Turnaround linked to today......
EDIT: Yep, that's the one, and another addicting melody.....verses are incredible-- Thank God for Sweden, that's all I can say :-)
Here it is... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z-CLw47bywE (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z-CLw47bywE)
Woah yeah it's Carpenters through and through, from the writing to those harmonies at 0.50 in the clip. Sure, it probably wont top any pop charts, but I love the whole old school vibe... it fits Agnetha like a glove and brings back such warm feelings that I haven't felt since the days of Steps.
both songs are beautiful!
I think I like The One Who Loves You now the best - it's gorgeous!
Very nice music , We need more music like this in this world.
Nice interview with Agnetha.
She is really lovely and I can't wait for that album!

Quote"I felt that this was an album with Jörgen's songs, at least nine of them, and he writes together with others too, but I thought it'd be fun to have one song on there. And then I started to write songs as well and that started to work well, I managed to squeeze a song out, and it will actually be the last song on the album. It's called "I keep them on the floor beside my bed". A long title."
I've been racking my brains what the first two bars of the chorus melody of "The One Who Loves You Now" reminds me of.....it's a fairly stock kind of melody, but still I felt it reminded me of some hymn or anthem....and today it hit me: it's virtually the same melody as the two bars before the closing two bars of the German National Anthem (which was composed by Haydn). Uncanny, since this is to be the first single from Agnetha for Germany :-)
Full version of "The One Who Loves You Now", only one I can find on internet http://vimeo.com/61751344 Absolutely gorgeous song, even better than the clip, which was nice enough!!

Agreed, there are so many nice elements to it that we didn't get to hear in the clip. That one line is very close to the melody in the national anthem, but I'd be surprised if anyone else even picks that up haha, well spotted though. I think my mum will love this album, it will be out around Mother's Day here too. Pity she'll never appreciate it purely for Jörgen's work though.
Should be interesting:

It's been taken down, and sadly I had it loaded before, but then thought I'd come back and listen to it later, so closed it. There was also a link to another track we haven't heard yet, but that's gone too. :(
Annoying. The weird thing is, that the official FB site of Agnetha have linked to the Gary Barlow track.
"I was a flower" has been released in the UK.

Sadly the snippet is too short.
Agnetha FB has linked to a youtube-account streaming it, but it's not available in my country.
http://youtu.be/8YiYod2Zai0
Maybe you are lucky this time.
The YouTube link worked for me thanks. It's a beautiful track, very Jörgen and a real grower, and somehow reminds me of Steps a little bit. Weird that her official Facebook page is linking to some unofficial looking uploads.
Flower really gets me. This is timeless pop music. I knew this combination would be pure gold.

Thank you, Turnaround -- it was so great to see Peter Nordahl playing that beautiful piano part....such a lovely, simple part! :D
Two more videos have been released. In the studio listening to "The one who loves you most" and this impressive video of the orchestra playing the strings.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hRfaUNlGhO8&feature=player_embedded
It's gorgeous.
QuoteThroughout the whole album we have had the great opportunity to work with Stockholm Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and in this clip you see all the 60 strings conducted by producer/arranger Peter Nordahl. Feel free to sing along with the strings!
And the video from the studio:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3KITKSY4ODg
I love how Jörgen and so many other writers record real strings. Westlife's songs also had real orchestras playing the strings.
^ ^ ^
THANK YOU, Turnaround!!! Made my morning. Cool to see them listening to playback, and that orchestral video is incredible.......inexpressible beauty. They must have overdubbed the pizzicato strings part later, because on the record -- second verse -- pizzicato strings double that piano hook melody. Anyway, this whole song is a masterpiece.
I didn't realise they used such a large orchestra, it really does add a new dimension to the song. Good point about Jörgen using strings often, now that I think of songs like "If I Let You Go" and "My Love", it's so obvious!
It's interesting watching Jörgen standing in the back of the studio, it's like he's full of nervous energy watching it all come together.
I think he was kind of irritated that they talked during listening the song.
Here are album snippets.

I did wonder that too, he looks a little frustrated. But then I figured it was more his own anticipation of how it would sound.
I'll give the snippets a listen shortly.
EDIT: Oh wow, this is some pure Cheiron gold. Huge respect to Jörgen for capturing the ABBA essence, which in it's similarities gives me chills of late 90's Cheiron as well. Beautiful melodies through and through. If anything, the only track I'm not liking so far is "Back On Your Radio", but I'll wait for the full version. Also I wasn't a huge fan of the noticeable auto-tune on a couple of tracks, but apart from that, awesome!
Full-quote worthy here Joshua. 8)

Seems like you thought I wasn't serious ... But now I know who it is!
They're doing some decent promo for this, YouTube Australia have ads running and last night on Aussie TV was a special on one of our current affairs programs featuring an interview with Agnetha.

It was on a program called "Sunday Night", they didn't actually talk much about the new album, only mentioned it at the end. It focused a lot on young Agnetha and her relationship with Björn and how they met, they interviewed him as well.
What a rubbish remix, the vocals are sped up to the point of ridiculousness!
I almost dislike all remixes of pop music.
Just give me the radio edit.
In other news, my shop already had the Agnetha album. So exciting. Will celebrate the unpacking and first look of the booklet. ;D
Interesting details in the booklet:
Album was recorded in two studios:
Atlantic Studio, Stockholm
Lighthouse Studio, Lindingö (Jörgen's studio)
All vocals recorded and arranged by Jörgen
Background vocals:
Agnetha Fältskog
Janet Leon
Myrra Malmberg
Jeanette Ohlsson
Jörgen Elofsson
Fredrik Thomander
Linda Ulvaeus (Agnetha's daughter she has together with Björn from Abba)
Agnetha thanks:
Thank you Jörgen and Peter for all your hard work, your support and friendship.
For the wonderful songs and lyrics that I have loved to interpret and for the chance to make them my own.
Gary Barlow for the wonderful duet.
Jörgen and Peter Nordahl thank a lot of people:
Special Thanks to Agnetha for making our dreams come true.
Last but not least:
Kicki and Ida Elofsson
Myrra and Mandalay Malmberg
Ahh that's wonderful. :) I'm really hoping it's in stock here tomorrow (as it's meant to be), I want to get it for my mother for Mother's Day on Sunday. It's not just for my own selfish desire to listen to it, I really think she'll love it!
Very sweet idea. You both will love it. 8)
Got it! Though it wasn't easy. The store I went to had to look it up, which is a bad sign on a release day. Their records showed they had one copy come in, just ONE! That's madness, it was two days before Mother's Day. Anyway, then they couldn't find it anywhere and I thought my luck was about to run out. But they found the disc, then asked if I could come back later while they hunted the cover down, haha... anyway it all worked out and I'm so glad. I got her a necklace and some chocolates to go with it, can't wait to give it all to her.
Lovely. Always a good choice. :)
They could have done a special set. A / Chocolate / Necklace - Edition

Oh, great choice! I think everyone deep down inside really just wants ABBA sounding tracks from this album, and this one surely comes closest.
Watching the BBC documentary.
So amazing to see Jörgen talking. You can see footage of the Lighthouse studios and the best thing is they introduce him as the man behind this: *Footage of Britneys YOU DRIVE ME CRAZY*
Thanks to the documentary the album went from #43 to #6 in the UK. Massive.
It's nearly dropped out of the top fifty here. How did you manage to watch the doco, online or was it aired in Germany?

Found it on the internet. Haven't watched all, but what I've seen so far was beautiful. And so cool to have interviews in Jörgens studio.
I could listen to Jörgen talking for hours.
I had no idea Gary Barlow and Jörgen were pretty good friends.
So how many documentaries were there.
I watched the "Agnetha - Abba and After".
Has there been another one?
Wonderful effort.
I'm loving "I should have followed you home", Gary Barlow is one of my favorite songwriters, his songs are so authentic and classic. Jorgen did a fantastic job too.

There'd have to be a Swedish one surely, but I'm guessing the BBC doco might be the main one. Here's the special that was on Australia's current affair program "Sunday Night", but it doesn't focus as much on the album as it does her career and life.

I finally saw the BBC documentary air here in Australia, and I had totally forgotten Jörgen would be featured, so that was exciting. Even though I'm not the die hard fan you are Turnaround, it was indeed awesome to see him interviewed. He speaks very good English I must say. I loved the part where Agnetha was singing "The One Who Loves You Now" with the band, I'm not sure if that was part of the recording session, but it was really nice. Love the track with Gary Barlow too, I must listen to that again.
I noticed the album jumped back into the charts here again after the documentary aired, so it must have been popular. They even showed an encore screening (the one I saw), and then another ABBA documentary was shown in prime time a few days later, mainly covering the making of "Dancing Queen". It's funny that even though I wasn't around for ABBA, when I watch these documentaries, I feel like I lived some of those same feelings with Steps. Must be the way they crafted the songs after ABBA's and just the general good feel of the group.
It's so good to see Jörgen everytime:)
BTW - anyone heard the "Track by Track" on spotify. "The one who loves you now" demo was recorded by Janet Leon. It must have been very good. Would love to listen to that.
"Dance your pain away": Jörgen realised they didn't have a gay-anthem on it. And he knows she is a gay icon. So he wrote "Dance your pain away" :D
Agnetha and Jörgen with Peter Nordahl at Stockholm Pride receiving a golden record.
Amazing pictures.
Cool fact: Janet Leon's "New colours" is the official Stockholm Pride song. So Jörgen could probably celebrate the performance of his track by Janet too :D

I could be totally wrong here, but it sounds like the award is actually from Australia... "A" has now gone gold here and you can hear the words "album", "gold" "Australian" from around 2:15.
I absolutely agree that Jörgen should be proud too, it's just as much his album as it is Agnetha's.
Picked up my own copy (rather than my Mum's) of this today and I can safely say I'll be listening to this for a while in my car. Far out there's some good material on this album. It just gives me this overall vibe of Sweden, from the melodies to some of the arrangements. The duet with Gary is my favourite, but sooo many others are right up there too. Some almost get me a bit emotional. The only one I still can't get into is "Back On Your Radio", it sounds like a cheesy commercial jingle something. ;D
Good news:
"The album has been certified with a Gold record award in Australia (35,000 copies), the UK (100,000 copies) and Sweden (20,000 copies)."
I read also that she received "Gold" in Germany, but it's not been confirmed officially.
Oh - who would have thought.
Agnetha performed live:
