I've never heard the original, but it's not an easy-listening song, MØ's version is clearly more pop and basic.

I'm thinking of maybe a demo by Matthew Koma for Hilary Duff in 2015, after all, Oscar also had a song in that album and it definitely sounds like a fit for that album.
