Hey Guys!
Been reading a lot on this message board however just recently created my account. I've noticed that a lot of you are having troubles getting that Cheiron Sound on your drums. Well, I'm here to help!
Now here's loop i created myself:
https://soundcloud.com/mxm-cheiron-drums
I can help you get that Cheiron drum flavor on your track but I'm gonna have to charge you for it (Sorry guys, but it takes time to do music and time is unfortunately not free)
If you want the track I made (the one you can hear on my soundcloud page) I'll send it to you (each individual file as a .wav) for $100
I can also help you create a custom Cheiron drum track, made specifically for your own track for $250 (includes me mixing the drums to fit the track)
I can also take a song you've written and produce it for you in a cheiron style so that you get that ultimate 90's feeling (price varies based on track, contact me for more info)
All sales are final and all payments must go through paypal.
Contact: mxmcarl@gmail.com
Don't think of this as an ad, think of it as me helping you guys out. I've spent a lot of time (years) getting that crisp cheiron sound on my tracks and I believe that's something worth paying for.
Regards
Carl
Awesome drums man! I sent you a PM!
interesting.. well i liked the demo u made
i always had the problem with the drums no matter how much i layer them or eq them i cant get the sound!
welcome to the forums btw
Well, actually you don't need to layer drums that much to get a great sound, it's all about having a few great sounds and mixing it properly!
:( I wanted to cry when I was listening to your loop. I just imagined this to be a new Cheiron song in 2002 or so. I wish the era would've continued with new Backstreet Boys songs :(
Anyway, great work!!!!!!!!
Is the snare that always comes on the 4 really created by your own?
welcome Carl. That drum demo is beautiful.
It Sounds Amazing.

Thanks, well it's never too late to create new BSB songs! A great song will always be a great song.
Hehe, It's actually the "real" cheiron snare shot, I know you guys have been talking about it in other threads.
I'll upload it on soundcloud in a while!

Like I said before, if any of you guys need help creating that Cheiron sound, I'm up for the challenge, I've been working in the industry for quite some time now and know my way around the Cheiron sounds and the analog synths that they used back in the days!

Welcome Carl. I enjoyed the track.
Do you know any of the Cheiron guys?
Have your own songs been released by some artist already?

I don't know any of the guys, sorry, I do however know a lot of people who used to work with them (co writers, producers, engineers etc) and I have some friends who've bought a lot of the old equipment (the actual synths, speakers, consoles that max and the other guys used) after cheiron closed down.
Indeed I have had some placements, I have a couple of records on the wall at home but I'm no big shot and I doubt anyone would know who I am so I'd rather stay anonymous.

;D
the demo u made sounded very britney spears
well i read about a guy that bought a roland jv 2080 from cheiron and it had all the sounds but this guy was stupid enough to reset them so he lost all the sounds.

you, sir, are a god!
now that I hear the snare sample solo, it doesn't even sound that special. it's just a common snare sound layered with a filtered sound but it's just so unique!!!! thank you so much man!!!
PS: sounds like a snare drum mixed with a sample of a reverb tail

The typical Kristian Lundin snare sound!
I'm sure I would recognise your name fair enough. :)
I like your sounds.

Are you sure?
Completely , This is the main distinctive of the Cheiron sound.
U're asking for money for something that is available in this forum?
Kick and snare are from Baby One More Time Stems probably.
I think what people want here is the PowerFx Downtown Beats and some other stuff that u don't have.
Agreed, it's a bit weird to ask for money for these old sounds.
Don't think they're from the stems though. Most of those Cheiron sounds can be found on old Roland and EMU hardware synths. The Roland SR-JV80-06 expansion board, for example, has a lot of Cheiron sounds on it (such as "Manic Shots" or "Ambient Sweep"). The "Vektogram" sound that you can hear at the beginning of the demo track is on the JV-2080 or XV-5080.
There wasn't a lot of layering or any kind of "magic" applied. The Cheiron guys just recorded the sounds from the synths and included them in their tracks. They were brilliant when it came to finding all these different sounds and combining them into a nice arrangement. But they didn't create them. If you crank out a new hit every week, you don't really have time to build your own sounds :D
Anyway, I own most of these Roland/EMU synths and expansion boards. If anyone is looking for a particular sound, I'm happy to share it (for free ;))

Well, sound design is a very important part of the process.
You have to find your own style, actually when you hear a Cheiron produced song, you can tell it. And that happens for many reasons: the way they build melodies, the way they arrange these melodies and the sounds they use to build the track.
Sorry for the late reply guys, been busy this past week.

Well indeed I could do that if you really want that specific type of drum sound (although it's basically the same sounds used in my demo above)

I've read a lot of posts where people have asked where and how to get that specific drum sound, I'm just saying that if anyone needs it, I'm happy to help. If you're good enough to shape the sounds yourself and mix it in the right way, then please do so, but some of the members might not, I would have loved this service 6-7 years ago when I wanted use the Cheiron drum sounds myself.
I don't really think people want loops, and if they do, the Downtown beats loops are a great option but what I can supply is a service where I can create cheiron sounding drums custom made for your track!
And no, the sounds are not sampled from stems, if they were sampled from another track they wouldn't sound as good.
If you don't like the drums, don't wish to buy them: Don't! I'm just providing a service for those who do! The secret is in the mixing, not in the sounds themselves. This is for you who can't mix the drums properly or for you who thinks it's too time consuming to do so.

Actually I'm looking for the different orchestra hits used in different songs and the sound under the snare in each song that reminds a sonar ping..the pad which is used in a lot of songs...and also the drum set used for baby one more time. I have the stems but the same sounds were used for another song so they're definitely not live..
. Or the sample that Max Martin used for the Larger Then Life intro
U can contact me privately to share an instant messaging ;)
who is willing to pay this man 100 $ dollars for a cheiron track?
The snare fx is a preset it is also used here in some random parts in different tones but I think it's definitely the one used by Max Martin...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wu9uWY1hm40
It must be a preset from his equipment.
The fx is also in Don't Wanna Lose You Now by BSB without snare.
yeah.. probably
from some synthesizer is a preset.
not sure wich one tho
17 second on this clip also
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MbeuR3JQ3Rc
sorry cant help. these sounds are too old to find today.
maybe if you get yourself the right hardware synth or rack u will find these sounds.
Yeah but to get the right instrument at least I should know someone who got those stuff and have the proof that the real thing is there.

I'll be looking into you for sure!
After 4 odd years of actually trying to find the preset for the iconic sonar sound they put on the snare, i just manually filtered it nigh 100% cleanly using the IGBM 7.1 tracks
https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/683453920508641395/885947116705448026/iconic_sonar_sound.wav
Per Magnusson told me this sound was taken from a random sample cd which may explain why nobody can seem to find it on any of the akai or roland libraries . smgdh

IGBM 7.1 tracks? Where are these from? Is there anything like that by Britney Spears from Cheiron?
I'm looking for Oops desperately.
Anyway the sonar sound has always been in front of our hears!
It was also just reversed and pitched down...used as uplift white noise :P
I don't think so, if you reverse the sonar rise from oops you definitely don't get this one. they probably used a more dedicated plug for that...
Yeah the 7.1 used by tidal is entirely random as to what songs they pick up. as far as i know there are basically no cheiron songs, it is almost impossible to distinguish which ones will be 7.1 which is usually much more flushed out than the standard dolby atmos 5.1 (Except if it's never gone or other DTS ports, then its the exact same shit as you already had). You best believe if they had classics like IWITW on there i would be posting it outright
They say they have 'over 1000 songs' compatible with tidal 7.1 but i still dont know of anyway to search the catalogue. shits a mess https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/articles/00246357

No actually u need to sample that...and play it on a keyboard if u go higher u get that sound lol
Anyway apple also have the surround song so it's really hard to understand which song is added on total but it's easier on Apple Music.
Anyway if It's Gonna Be Me it's added even other classics from that era must be added.
Maybe Britney is freezes because of the conservatorship...idk...
Anyway everything is still rare

I did a little search. Tidal got some specific playlists. "It's gonna be me" is the only Cheiron song added. Britney is there but with Toxic. Also it's not even in the Dolby Atmos playlist it's in the Reality Audio playlist and the songs are in stereo but the real file is e-ac3 6 channel.
nah mate that's on apple music, i got hard proof that this upgraded surround on tidal is 8 channels lol i can post a link for you if you dont believe me
They got the full album for montero on there but the label didn't isolate the vocals for us even in the 7.1 versions. SAD!

In fact I think that Nsync version is a kind of mistake because in most cases surround audios got lead vocals and drums mixed together.
And they layered it too!
