Title: Shellback/Max Martin Guitar Style
Post by: LuckyLuke on March 09, 2014, 08:35:35 PM
Recently i try to get similar guitar like in Shellback and Max Martin productions. i do not know, is it possible to create guitar part with full articulation and programming like their intros by VSTi?
Below you can listen demo of some songs, there are some electric guitar sounds and also acoustic.
I know Shellback is great guitarist, so he probably doesn't go with VST instruments.
in spite of this, which VST instruments do you recommend for pop guitar sounds? How can i produce guitars only "ITB" without recording?

and here is "Vengeance Rhythm Guitar" samplepack (but i prefer plugins, it is very hard to recreate samples - but Vengeance sounds very cool, do you think it is VSTi?)

orange tree
samples guitars

very good in the box vsti guitars.

vengeance guitars are loops that wont u program the guitar notes. only if you cut up the loops u may get the sound you want.

also if you got waves plugins you could make some nice guitar sounds with gtr amp solo!

btw... for distorted guitars try sample logic guitars

here is a song i did with these plugins for taylor swift recently listen to the guitars

100 % in the box

if you are serious about guitars.. buy a real distortion guitar with a dist box. or a real acoustic guitar. hire a player or something and record into your daw.
but but... you said plugins so, the plugins above is what i recommend for you!

Thanks.
The Orange Tree Samples are really cool!
But this is acoustic sound.
What about distortion, electric guitar?

Yes, i should buy physical guitar and record some intros but i think VST plugins are very handy. It is easy to get cool and realistic sound if plugin has good samples.

And what about Real Strat? Good software equivalent of electric guitar?

Yeah, I'd definately go with electri6ity, get something funky going, turn off any amp simulators in the plugin and then run it through Line6 Amp Farm which is what Max/Shellback does. You can try Waves GTR too, they use that on occasion.

Yeah that's a good idea.
