Maybe she doesn't want to be his puppet to get more number ones?? Maybe there's some behind-the-scenes drama. Who knows?
It's ok but I really don't know why would public wanted to listen to someone's private mood songs that are not made for commercial use. Many artists who had a couple of hits fall into this trap, thinking that the public wants to listen to their personal taste, while it cannot be farther from the truth. Public want hits, commercial products carefully crafted for the market. I see some of her songs had 10-15 mil listeners which is a sure sign that the public is not that enthusiastic and is a sure way down. The moment she realizes that she will call Max again. Without much help I would say subjectively because it seems that he is also worn off a bit, or has lost his mojo, or has wrong or not-so-talented collaborators, whatever.
Btw I haven't heard his song recently that I liked the way I liked his former songs. Now it's pure manufacturing, not the craft of making good songs. Worst thing is that he inspired loads of new producers that use his methods but don't possess his craft and talent. And the result are bleak, predictable, mechanic hits that are actually not hits at all but industry forces them to be, because there is nothing better at the moment.
