Max Martin will be the executive producer of the new Maroon's album :D

So, after the success of "Moves Like Jagger" Shellback hooked him up with Max?
Nice to hear, I'm excited!
Very cool, probably a great match, and they can fly to Maratone studios to work again with Shellback too.
OMG , it's so exciting!
oooooooh, now THAT's some serious news. Awesome! Wonder if he also wrote some songs.
Awesome news! I really hope he co-wrote some songs.
Oh exciting! can't wait.
I feel this is going to be HUGE.
It's really interesting for a band like Maroon 5 to work with other writers, but as the last album wasn't that good and the last single "Moves like Jagger" with other writers worked so well it's obvious that the step is right.
I hope for something as good as Carolina Liar, but hopefully more succesful. This will be the first Maroon 5 album I will buy. ;)
Woah, that is HUGE news! Even after "Jagger" I wasn't expecting it would lead to this... cool!
Very exciting news. Maroon 5 have such a great fan base, and with the success of Moves Like Jagger, an album with a more 'pop' feel could be explosive for them. I look forward to hearing it!

I'm happy,a real pop song and not a boring elettropop song.
Can anyone check who co-wrote this? Apparently it's out in the US already.
According to wikipedia the song is produced by
Shellback, Ryan Tedder, Benny Blanco, Max Martin
Cool, that Max works with Ryan Tedder.
Amazing pop song.

This is already one of my favourite Max songs. It reminds me of when I first heard those low quality live recordings of Teenage Dream and thought 'I can't quite hear it but something sounds amazing' :) Can't wait for the studio version of this track.

You really can hear Shellback and Max writing in some songs.
Loving most of what I've heard so far. I'd put money on "One More Night" being the next single, I really like it's Ace Of Base vibe.
I think daylight is a great song.

Oh cool! :D The included remix at the end of the album surely meant it was going to be sooner or later, but it's a single worthy track for sure.

Payphone has entered the UK Top 10 at #9, but not by Maroon 5 but by Precision Tunes (a cover band/project)
The REAL song is now #1 on itunes and will be #1 next week, but how hilarious, they should have released the real version earlier.

Haha , Great!
So funny that people would be desperate enough to buy a cover version haha. I saw this last week when it was number 83, but number 9?!? They'd have to play it as part of the radio countdown and everything! ;D
I wonder how much money the cover band earned. The royalties go to the writers, so how much does a producer get from 99 pennies?

Quote"Jagger," co-written by hitmakers Benny Blanco and Shellback, was Maroon 5's first experience with outside writers. When they returned to the studio last fall, they brought back Blanco and Shellback and hired dance-pop king Max Martin, the man behind hits by Britney Spears, Kelly Clarkson and Katy Perry, as Overexposed's executive producer. "Sometimes a co-writer will write something that's almost better than what you would do, and it's like, 'Shit!'" says Levine. Adds Valentine, "Up to now, we've been insulated from the pop-industrial complex. We've been like, 'Fuck you, we're a band.' But now, stepping into this new world of songwriters and producers, it feels fun."
The result is Maroon 5's most dance-driven album ever, with standout tracks including the pounding house cut "Payphone," featuring an irresistible Wiz Khalifa verse, and the sexy reggae jam "One More Night." At Conway Studios, Levine grooves as the track winds down. "In a way, we've had a rebirth," he says. "It's been 10 years since we started the band, when nobody knew what the hell to do with five white guys trying to sing soul music.
"Now, we thought we should see where this goes – why not? We can't keep doing the same thing forever. At this point, we want to be a little bit scared."

Album of the year anyone? Grammy?
I wish! I'll be surprised if it even gets a look in at the Grammys.
EDIT: Hang on, I just looked at last years album nominations and it was way more pop than I realised, so there is hope after all. I figured it either had to be country, folk or rap. ::)
Shellback and Max involved that way in the album:
Shellback: Bass, Composer, Drums, Engineer, Guitar, Guitar (Acoustic), Keyboards, Producer, Programming, Vocals (Background)
Max Martin: Composer, Engineer, Executive Producer, Guitar, Keyboards, Producer, Programming, Vocals
Love it when Max sings background vocals on songs. Recently he also sang the background vocals on Usher's "Scream". So when it's on the radio we can hear Max. 8)
I hope some of the Maroon guys aren't feeling redundant on this record, all the drum programming and producers playing on tracks. ;D
I love the melody of ''The man who never lied'' , Amazing song!

oh wow, both those articles are great! I love the Swedish article, it's so funny, James Valentine said he is willing to marry Shellback in California just so Shellback can gain residency and stay in the US more!
I bought the album today. It's a bit of a disappointment to be honest, on first listen anyway. It started out so strong with "One More Night" and "Payphone", "Daylight" isn't too bad either. But after that it went majorly downhill for me until "Doin' Dirt" which I really love (I listened to it in the car without knowing who worked on what, and I just knew it had to be either a Max or Shellback track). Oh, "Fortune Teller" was good too. Anyone else had a listen right through? Would like to know your thoughts.

Woo hoo, "Daylight" is the confirmed third single, I'm so happy! This song has grown on me a lot since I bought the album, I'm kinda in love with it. Apparently it was the original choice for the third single, then they changed their minds and made it "The Man Who Never Lied", but now that will be the fourth release (according to the site below).

XLN Audio co-owner Max Martin scores his 15th Billboard #1 with Maroon 5's "One More Night" (co-written by Shellback, Savan Kotecha & Adam Levine). Congratulations, Max!
Hang on... Max co-owns XLN Audio? No wonder he's always quoted as saying he uses their plug-ins. Also, it just dawned on me that Max works frequently with Savan, as of course does Rami... yet it seems as though Max and Rami have no contact (if the rumours are true). That must be a little awkward for Savan.
wow, that is very interesting re XLN audio.
true Max does work a lot with Savan, oh, I'm sure they're professionals and it's not too awkward. Savan is everywhere!

So, "One More Night" is number one for it's fifth week on Billboard. FIVE WEEKS!!! :o Is that a record for Max?
Hitsongsdeconstructed talk about "One more night"
Released as the second single from their fourth studio album, Overexposed, One More Night saw Adam Levine and company teaming up with three of today's hottest hitmakers – Max Martin, Shellback and Savan Kotecha to compose a song that they hope will keep their momentum going after the stellar performance of their previous hit single, Payphone.
To date, One More Night has hit #1 on six charts in four countries and spent the last seven weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100 (much to the chagrin of PSY).
So - just what is it about the song that's been preventing Gangnam Style from hitting #1 in the U.S.? Find out by reading the report where we provide you with:
• A comprehensive look at the inner workings of the song including melody, structure, lyrics, vocals, MTI, instrumentation and much more.
• An exploration of A&R hit factors including: Does One More Night stick too close to the Maroon 5 formula despite the Reggae influence? What's the demographic reach of the song based on the nature of the music, melody and lyrics? Does it connect with the listener on a deep, emotional, "human" level or is it mostly fluff?
• An evaluation of how One More Night's characteristics and attributes compare to the songs currently topping the charts in the Pop genre (i.e. Does it stand out or blend in? What's its differential advantage?)
• Songwriter/Producer take-aways culled from what made the song a hit that can instantly be applied to help take your craft to the next level.

I must have been wrong before about their five weeks at number one on Billboard, because now two weeks later they've apparently matched Carly Ray Jepsen's record (for the year) of nine weeks! Impressive or what?!?
Maroon 5 was on Saturday Night Live last night......they did "One MOre Night" first (great live), but the one that really hit me was "Daylight".......lot of emotion in that melody!! I was thinking, wow, two Max songs in a row :-)
Cool, I'll have to check the SNL performance out. They did it on The Voice, and that was quite powerful too. It's grown on me so much to become my favourite on the album. I really hope it charts well for them. They almost released "The Man Who Never Lied" instead, but that will be next apparently.
