Just read on the main page that Max is apparantly working with Simple Plan on their new album. Interesting choice for Max, definitely more of a rock band than he's worked with recently. I hope he doesn't venture away from working with pop artists altogether though.
Here is a rip of Simple Plan's first single from the new record. I actually realy like it. It doesn't sound particualrly like Max's sound so don't know if it's one of the tracks he's worked on. What do others think about this hook up?

Oh, very nice, I like some songs by Simple Plan.
I knew Max would appear on something random and unpredictable, like he has on the Apocalyptica and James Blunt album this year.
I am sure they will be a perfect match, actually Simple Plan have very poppy melodies.
I hope it's a midtempo song, can't wait!
Thanks for this, the new single is pretty nice!
Here is the article by the way:

QuoteIn addition to Hills, Simple Plan worked with Dave Fortman and Max Martin on the follow-up to 2004's million-plus seller "Still Not Getting Any."
We definitely have to check ASCAP etc.
Thanks Markus for starting this thread! and thanks Turnaround for the Billboard link - I didn't have that before!
Should be a good match
I think Simple Plan could sing a song like Ashley Angel Parker's "I'm Better" or like "Stanfour's Do It All"
I hope it's more than 1 song for Simple Plan. I'm getting tired of this 1 song for this person, 1 song for that person.
Hopefully it will be released as a single too.
Wow I really like Simple Plan..I love their leader's vocals.....Max and them I think they would fit together, and hey I am kinda sad that Max isn't doing Pop again.
I think it fits quite well in the last work of Max. Simple Plan is far away from being a rock band, so I guess it will be, like Rebecca said, something similar to "Let u go"
He co-wrote/produced their song called Generation. You can see them talk about it here: http://youtube.com/watch?v=caFP-y9AOX8 They talk about it around 2 minutes in the video. First David talks.. then Pierre explains about the song Max Martin was on.
oh cool, thanks Linda for the youtube link
Thanks LJ, it's always interesting to hear them talking about our guys.
Yeah it really is cool to hear artist talk about them. What's cooler for me is that Simple Plan is my all time favorite band so when I heard about this, I pretty much screamed out loud lol
lol I never actually heard of Simple Plan before..
Oh, you should go on a youtube session :D
Great songs for example.
"Untitled"
"Welcome to my life"
^Thanks :)

Or visit their myspace (www.myspace.com/simpleplan) where they've put up their newest song "When I'm Gone".
They're the best guys ever :D
Simple Plan? I think I know the name. Where are they from? Can't bother to Google. The red wine is making me dizzy. :D
Enjoy the wine! :P
They are from Canada as far as I know. ;)
Yeah Canada!
Aaaw man.. you guys need to go listen to them if you don't know them!
:)
Have they been on the charts? Should I know their singles?

Yeah... you should know about them!
Please check this one out: http://youtube.com/watch?v=9uHDTrc0ZaI&feature=related
It was played a lot on the radio...
That's a really nice song. Never heard it before though. Will check them out!
That's my favourite song by them, it is touching.
The Swedish Nrj Radio station did an interview with Pierre when they were in London and he talked about Max Martin in it :) He said some really nice words about him. But how can you not?
You can download the interview here (http://nrj.se//sound.php?id=13-20071126160634-0) and listen!
Tack :D
Nice find!
hey, thanks for the link. great to hear him talk about working with Max.
I've heard the new simple plan's single WHEN I'M GONE.
I don't think this song is written by max,is not extraordinary song.
BTW is a good song.

No Max Martin has only been on the song "Generation".
Only a song? :(
Maybe it's not of interest but I read a new interview where Pierre talked about the producers off their album and then he mentions Max Martin, I quote: "There was one song that we co-produced also with "Danja" called Generation that wasn't quite finished yet. Max Martin heard it and really thought it was amazing so he wanted to get involved in the end and polish it up even more. I think all together it was a perfect mesh of different styles and different sounds and it worked out great."
cool, I love it when singers mention Max Martin.
Where did you read the interview? was it in a magazine?

Me too. I just love whenever someone says something respectful and nice about him, and even more when it's people who you didn't expect to do it. I found it in this interview at TheyWillRockYou.com (http://www.theywillrockyou.com/interviews/index.php/interviews/pierre_bouvier_of_simple_plan/").
Max Martin deserves respect for his music and his writing ,he makes good music and writes good lyrics, he never worte shameful lyrics or even hinted to any shameful thing in his songs ,and actually i respect that .

Yeah, he deserves respect for his amazing talent and beautiful music, that's why I get happy when artists take knowledge of that.
Max rules!!!!

true he never has written shameful lyrics - a lot of times they're a bit raunchy but not trashy.
Thanks Linda for the interview link. Though it's interesting that they put how Max Martin has worked with Kelly Clarkson, Avril and James Blunt even though he only wrote 1 or 2 songs for them. Either they chose those artists because Max has written with them recently or they thought Simple Plans fans couldn't handle knowing that Simple Plan worked with the same producer as Backstreet Boys, Britney, NSync. I'll think positively and think it's just because they wanted to speak of recent songs.
the truth is Max Martin's name and his reputation in the world of music as a producer and songwriter is because of his work with Britney Spears and backstreet boys.
Max Martin's most memorable and successful songs are with Britney Spears and B.S.B.

Maybe they pick those artist since they are closer to SP's music (except james blunt I guess)... it makes more sense to mention them than to go "oh he made all the bsb's hits", because that won't show to any Simple Plan fan who never heard of Max Martin, that he is so much more than pop. If they say he worked with BSB the fans would wonder why they have him since they aren't doing that style of music. I just think it makes sense...
If you know Max Martin it's because you've heard all the hits of BSB and Britney. But he is so much more than that, which a lot of people don't know.

i don't think they pick those artists cuz they r closer to simple plan's music , cuz simple plan worked with ''danja'' who is R&B and Hip Hop producer and not the style of clarkson or avril.
actually Max Martin proved himself more in pop , and if u excluded his work with Britney and Backstreet boys, u will find his discography less interesting, and doesn't have big worldwide hits.
i know he can make other styles of music ,but the fact is that he found himself more in pop , and maybe he is doing different style recently cuz there is no demand on pop music recently , even the pop singers r looking for urban styles .

Well Danja haven't done rock type music so they couldn't say any other artist than r&b ones, and SP been on a lot about that they wanted to add some hip hop flavors etc, but they haven't been on about that they wanted "pop". Well concidering Martin is a rocker in his soul, I doubt he is sad that he gets to do more rock music He's done the pop thing for a long time, he was really sucessful (understatement of the day), but I don't think he'll go back doing pure pop songs like that ever again. And I honestly don't care for what reason they didn't say BSB, Britney... it was the interviewer that picked those artists. But anyone who really knows music, know who Martin is already and the rest will get an idea of what he is these days, what type of style you could expect of the Simple Plan song. If you said Britney or BSB it would be a false image of what to expect. That's just how I feel.

Well, I wasn't talking about you in specific, I was generalizing... and I think people will get more what Max Martin will contribute to the song if they pick those names. And I didn't repeat what you said, I said that I don't think he would do pop music again even if he could, while you think it's 'cause he can't find a singer. I think he went with rockier sound when he felt that the pop wheel was over 'cause that was where the music business was heading BUT I still think there's still a lot of talented singers out there he could write pop songs for, but he choose not to do that 'cause he's done with that... you can't squeeze the same lemon for the rest of your life and expect to get something out.

Yes, that does make sense. It's nice to read other thoughts about this. My first thought was "why didn't they mention BSB or Britney?" but yes, the writer is just trying to choose artists who are of similiar style.
Yeah, I don't think Max is going to go back to pure pop in a big way again. It's good he can write different styles.

i didn't mean that he is searching for a singer to do pop, on the contrary i want him to show his ability and make other musical styles, and don't go backwards.
No Ahmed,I think Pop is getting back gradually..I mean most songs now are pretty much popy and kinda r'n'b-ish let say for example
Kataharine Mcphe Over It
Ashley Tisdale He Said She Said and her whole album HEADSTRONG
Samantha Jade Turn Around
Jordin Sparks Tattoo
Fergie Big Girls Don't Cry specially the Chorus.
and many others I can't remember now.
Glad there is No Angels and Darin who always keep pop music.

Steve Mac and Wayne Hector are british producers but they are really good songwriter.
I love their song FLY WITHOUT WINGS written for Westlife....really a masterpiece!!!
I don't mind Katherine McPhee's "Love Story", I'm not really a fan of Danja but there a lot worse songs than this, for me anyway.
Definitely prefer the Swedish producers!
Yeah, I like Steve Mac and Wayne Hector too! Love the Westlife song "World of our Own" - I think it's very Cheiron sounding.
By MAC and HECTOR I love also the song HE DON'T LOVE YOU by Human Nature.

Steve Mac is amazing :D
Absolutely, since years constantly great songs, most recently "Catch my breath" for Westlife and "Women" for Delta Goodrem, wonderful songs!
Heroes.
Keeping you up-to-date about SP and Max Martin...
I saw a new interview with them right here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2t9XYvl1dhU&feature=user
They talk about him and the Generation song at the time 1:44.
They even went to Sweden to fix it and it must have been really recently that happen, like in October/November. I just think it's cool that they had a finished song and then Martin comes a long and says he can make it better (lol), which ended up with them having to postpone their album release a month.... I just think that's cool ;)
(and I had no clue they were here in Sweden when they were.... :-\)
Great find, thanks Linda!
That's the spirit Max, great self-confidence, this song must be now even more amazing now! :D :o
i wonder if the singers who work with max on a song always have to go to sweden to work and record with him there or he can go to their own countries and work on the song there ?
MAX is always the number one!!!
I think they work mostly in US or Sweden... it's easier for producers to work where they have their own studios. That's what I think.

I think the most of the works is in sweden , I've heared once Kelly clarkson has said she went to sweden to do the songs , and shayne ward said so also ,
Thanks Linda for the update. Nice to hear them talk about Max. I hope Generation is a single. How did Max hear Generation if it was only a demo?

They haven't said this.. only that they met him and he heard the kinda already finished song (it wasn't a demo).
oh right, I misunderstood. I'm glad Max made the song even better. Pity he didn't work with them on more songs.

The final version isn't even online yet. They're album isn't released until February. I doubt the first version will be out... but that would have been cool if we could have heard the before and after.
I would love to hear the before and after! very unlikely I suppose.
This reminds me of the "Analouge" song for a-ha.
"Max Martin was brought in to turn "Minor Key Sonata (Analogue)" into a more commercially-friendly product - with a less surreal lyric, and catchier chorus. "Analogue (All I Want)" became a hit in the UK" (from wikipedia)
If someone wants to get the song on another level and even better Max is the first address. ;D
He is not Max Martin for nothing ;)
ANALOGUE.....Wow,I Love This Song!!!!
wow! I had no idea about that with Analogue Turnaound! I love that song too.

QuoteAnd this time youve been working with other producers too, right?
Pierre: The record was in the first place made by David Fortman, and we co-produced some of the songs with him. Then Danjahandz produced two songs, and one of them, Generation, we felt we wanted to improve a bit so we contacted Max Martin, because we knew he was interested in working with us. So we went to Stockholm for a couple of days and did the recording of the singing in his studio. It was an awesome experience.
Thanks Linda, so now we know!

who do u think will be credited on that song Danja or Max ?
MAX....Obvious ;D
Who's Danja ???
Both. Obviously. I doubt they won't credit Danja when they mention him every time they talk about the new album. But I'll let you know in 1 month when I have the album.
