Title: Songs for you to listen to
Post by: The Fates on October 20, 2015, 06:45:49 PM
Hey everyone,

Hope you're having or had a great day wherever you are.  Would love your thoughts on the melodies/lyrics for the below songs.  Would you hire me to your production team?

1) Take You Home https://soundcloud.com/the-fates/take-you-home?in=the-fates/sets/pro-bono/s-zKIR8
2) Night Shades https://soundcloud.com/the-fates/night-shades?in=the-fates/sets/pro-bono/s-zKIR8

I look forward to hearing from you!

night shades has a lot of potential!

I think the chorus part should have the vocals EQ'd differently or with a different effect (or both). It blends too much into the verses. The mixing needs a lot of work, too. But, again, this song has a lot of potential.

PS. I think the song with a big, punchy snare would help.

Nice songs. Would love to do some production on Take You Home. Think I can improve it a bit, or at least make it different. :) PM me.

Happy New Year everyone!

Did some minor revisions to my songs.  Would love to get your thoughts.

1) Night Shades https://soundcloud.com/the-fates/night-shades

2) Shelter https://soundcloud.com/the-fates/shelter

3) Heartthrob: https://soundcloud.com/the-fates/heartthrob

4) Once: https://soundcloud.com/the-fates/once

I'm also looking for a producer to help turn my musical "scraps" into full-ledged songs (think Mark Ronson/Amy Winehouse relationship).  I have melodies/lyrics/beats  - just need a multi-instrumentalist and seasoned engineer.  PLEASE do not PM unless you are serious about making songs to sell and have the time to do so.

Some examples of my "scraps" are below

1) Another 48 Hours: https://soundcloud.com/the-fates/another-48-hrs/s-YuwJJ

2) Partner In Crime: https://soundcloud.com/the-fates/partner-in-crime/s-Lq6RN

3) Do Get Back: https://soundcloud.com/the-fates/do-get-back/s-3pNCc

4) You've Been Warned: https://soundcloud.com/the-fates/youve-been-warned/s-wcCXa

Ok, I'm not sure about the others. But, Night Shades has SO MUCH POTENTIAL. the verses sections are so goooood. The delay on the synth is a little messy at times. The EQing is a little muddy.

Mainly, the chorus doesn't seem to do justice to the other parts. But, DAMN. Certain instances in this song makes me think it's a hit.

Who is singing, by the way? Could I help finishi the song? I produce and do vocal melodies.

I agree with the verses. I'd try the chorus an octave higher with full voice.
