hey everyone, I'm a HUGE max martin fan, since forever. has anyone heard this song, I think it sounds too much of a max martin song, sadly it's not, but hey, at least it reminds me of something that Britney could sing.
Hi fahad, welcome to the forum!
No, i haven't heard the song, I've never even heard of Ellie Cambell - where is she from?
Hey fahad!
Yes, welcome to the forum :)
You will like it here as a Max fan no doubt.
I found the video of the song on youtube
http://youtube.com/watch?v=jcpq8L6KHAU
And I must say, yes it's very Cheiron and catchy. The beats are almost 1:1 like "Baby one more time".
But it works very well for that song
Very nice background vocals too.
I like this song. Veeeeeery cheiron sound!!!!!
Similar to ops i did it again. Lovely when she says BYE BYE BABY 'Cos I'm BETTER THAN THAT!!!
Some news about Ellie????
I wish there was, but it's hard to find anything about her.
She was at Jive, released an album, mostly Topham/Twigg - Pete Waterman
Sadly this wasn't a success at all :(
(http://hitparade.ch/cdimages/ellie_campbell-dont_want_you_back_s.jpg)
It peaked at #44 in Australia
Another single " So Many Ways" peaked at #26 in the UK.
But never heard it.
Welcome to the forum Fahad!
this is the first time I have heard of Ellie....
Hey I love Ellie , She's so nice
Actully So Many ways is great songs
she has also other good songs on her album
Another rainy day
Don't want you back
So many ways
My heart will find a home
Say what you mean
Suspicion
those are my faves on the album
Ellie's "Don't Want You Back", and many of her other tracks came out of Pete Waterman's 'Hit Factory' in the UK...
Song credits: Written by Topham/Twigg;
Produced by Topham/Twigg/Waterman
It was definitely written in the Cheiron Britney/BSB-style, but was a great track and deserved to be a much bigger success
I think that's pretty embarrassing because they tried so hard to rip it off completely...

Hey davegeenz,
also you, very welcome to the boards! :D
Welcome to the boards Davegeenz, thanks for the songwriter info!
Oh god I looooove Don't Want You Back soooo much it's one of my favourite CHALLENGE hit of all time,I love her album as well specially "Say What You Mean".
Ellie didn't make it because she was compared to Britney since she came out in the same era....
I only just listened to this song - it's great, I totally remember it now. of course a total rip-off of the Cheiron style but still good.
The album is not as good as the song!
I discovered that song thnaks to that thread like a week ago and I must say i'm in love with it! lol
It's impressive how these guys imitated the sound we love so well!!! :o

Yes it's an amazing song , and Ellie has more amazing songs at the same style , I really like her
I love Ellie Campbell's songs specially this song,I have her album as well, she has 2 songs pretty much the same style!!
Say What You Mean and Suspicion.
Although as for my info the producers of this song are the sam producers who worked with Steps in most of their songs(I don't like that group's music it's more electro/pop) but actually Ellie knew how to make them do Pop Music.
Oh I have to post in here.
I was shopping recently and in the shop they were playing a very cachty pop song.
I wrote down the lyrics I could understand and now I googled it.
It's by Ellie Campbell.

Wow total Cheiron sound , I love it!
This is insane... I had "Don't Want You Back" stuck in my head all morning, and then come on here to find an old revived thread about it! I always loved that song, I have the CD single and all. Topham & Twigg (Steps, Tina Cousins) worked on it, they are up there with my favourite writers/producers, especially for their Tina Cousins work. "So Many Ways" is ok, but not half as strong as "Don't Want You Back" in my mind.
I love how we always come back to our favourite producers.
Can't believe that in this thread I was stating I did not "So many ways" and have not googled for it.
I'm glad my supermarket played this. 8) I am stuck in the 90ies musically and it's like a hidden gem for me to find artists from back then who did that special style.
I'm excited to listen to this album. Mark Topham and Karl Twigg have a nice discography.
Steps, Solid HarmoniE, Westlife, H&Claire, Pop! :-* :)
Amazing very Cheiron :D
I just discovered that Ellie's real name is Tina Campbell, but because PWL already had a Tina, they made her change it! Someone on feelgoodlies YouTube video for "Don't Want You Back" posted a nasty comment calling her Tina ("tina campbell you flop you were horrible when you were younger..." :o). So I had to Google it to see what the deal was, and there you have it. Apparently she also attempted X-Factor in 2005 and made it to the bootcamp stage.
I found an online interview from 2000 which also has a range of other interviews from artists of the time, and now it's got me all nostalgic and revisiting all those pop acts I was obsessed with back then. ;D

Maybe if that same album sounds and all came out now, it might've been sucessful, because it would've been a breath of fresh air, because most of today music releases have no feeling, passion, life, or soul. Alot if not most these days sound the same, all after 2009.
