Title: Made In Sweden
Post by: Tiiger on January 08, 2009, 12:59:06 AM
Andreas, Anders and Laila will once again team up together for TV. On January 14th their new TV-series start on Swedish TV4. We will get to follow the three in their work and the launching of TWO new Swedish artists. One of them is Janet Leon from Play and the other one is a guy whom I still don't know the name of.

"I think there's a curiosity for the work me, Andreas and Anders do everyday. The Swedish people will get to follow us behind the scenes and experience the hard and very stimulating work of launching an artist", Laila says.

This is going to be so interesting. Four episodes of songwriting, studio work, promotion etc. I wish all of you could see it. :o

It was an interesting first episode. We got to know the male singer - Kim Fransson. A rock-singer, not really my cup of tea. He was pissed because Desmond Child told him his lyrics didn't make any sense, and he was like "But I think the lyrics are great"... It was rather funny. Seems like Desmond and Andreas are writing his first single, if the pig-headed Kim agrees.  ???

We didn't get to see much of Janet Leon this time, probably next week. They did however introduce her but didn't mention a word of Play, strange. Mind you, they were never popular in Sweden.  :P

Wow-Oh-Wow! Next week Janet will release her first single, we got to hear a snippet of it in tonight's episode. It sounds brilliant! It's a bit Rihanna-ish. I think Andreas and Anders wrote it, not 100% sure yet, but when I find out I'll let you know. The track is called "Let Go."  :o

Oh, you can preview both singles from Janet and Kim here:

A first single already! good you are liking the single Tiiger. I had a listen to the snippet, it really sounds like so many other songs, sounds like Jordan Sparks. I have to admit it's not my style but she has a very nice singing voice.

Not much is unique in the musicworld today, Rebecca. Not even the songs Max write.  :-\

Agree on the fact that the Max/Dr Luke style isn't so original but I do think the Red One sound is kind of unique. With the success, we can expect quite a lot of imitation though...

Very true, but I like the style that Max writes, I don't like the style of that r n b style like Jordan Sparks songs.

Being so busy, I can't be here a lot, but that's why I came here today - to say about this fantastic theme for this show, it's so-so great!!! I'd like to have its full version but as I understood it's available to buy only for people living in Sweden :'(

I've started to download series of this show, but I didn't understand if it's kind of competition between Kim and Janet or just demonstration of star making process? And who is singing "Famous" theme???

I like "Let Go" though I don't think it's for my player, not so new for me but it's very good song. Kim's single sounds boring for me and Kim's personality... well, I'm not sure he's smart guy though his voice is ok.

By the way do you guys remember this video of Jasmine in songwriters camp?
http://ru.youtube.com/watch?v=5g1y1izzh6A&feature=related
Seems like it was kind of preparing for this show.

Let Go: Andreas Carlsson, Kalle Engström, Brett Young
Three Floors Down: Andreas Carlsson, Anders Bagge, Fredrik Hallström, Kim Fransson

Both singles are doing really well. I think Janet will be #1 this week and Kim probably #2!

Isn't Janet's song rather similar to India Arie's version of The Heart of the Matter?

The songs are good, typical Andreas production but I'm not blown away... The melody isn't so strong, he could have done a much better work, especially in the chorus and bridge of Let Go, in my opinion.
I don't know if somebody else shares my opinion here but I don't really like the direction Andreas is taking. I think Max's song have evolved much better than his... and it's a pity because still recently, Andreas ranked #2 in my top producers list.

I agree , andreas make good songs but to their songs lack something , with max he was much better.

I don't like Let Go, I always thought that Andreas was hired at Cheiron as a lyricist so perhaps he is not really a natural music writer, if he is writing the music here. My favourite song by Andreas since Cheiron is Clay Aitken's "Invisible".

Ok,the question is:

Is Andreas Carlsson OVERESTIMATED and SUFFICIENT like is friend K.L.? ::) ::) ::)

My favourite is one is I'm Alive, but it's also by Kristian!

I think Andreas is very talented for music, no doubt about this.

Isn't only a theories....are many years Andreas no write a single high on the charts.

Maybe the last was Clay aiken's Invisible.

It's so poor for a REAL GOOD SONGWRITER.

Maybe he was great cos MAX is "THE GREATEST"!!!

Good music isn't a synonym of successful music.
Do you consider Lesley Roy as bad music because her album flopped? I think you don't.
So don't blame Andreas and Kristian for not being successful. They just have less visibility than lucky Max who has the chance to work with bigger artists or unknown acts whose labels have decent promo budgects to spent on them.

Janet Leon album credits:
Heartache on the Dancefloor (Andreas Carlsson, Kalle Engström, Harry Sommerdahl, Lolene Everett)
Shimmy Shimmy (Kalle Engström, Will Fuller, James & Celeta Martin)
Let Go (Andreas Carlsson, Kalle Engström, Brett Young)
The Cover-Up (Andreas Carlsson, Desmond Child, Kalle Engström)
Breakaway (Andreas Carlsson, Kalle Engström, Alex James, Celeta Martin)
Anymore (Andreas Carlsson, Alex James, Jasmine Baird, Adam Messinger)
Keep It on the Low (Andreas Carlsson, Printz Board, Victoria Horn)
Missing You (Andreas Carlsson, Anders Bagge, Micheal Jones, Jack Knight, Peer Åström)

I personally LOVE this album. If you're not a fan of "Let Go" you will most certainly dislike this album. It's Pop 'n R&B with great melodies. The only songs I don't really care for are "Shimmy Shimmy" and "Keep It on the Low" - way too American for my taste. As you can see there are only 8 tracks, they've gone for quality and not quantity. Janet said new tracks will come out later.

Kim Fransson album credits:
Three Floors Down (Andreas Carlsson, Anders Bagge, Kim Fransson, Fredrik Hallström)
Kiss and Make Up (Andreas Carlsson, Jörgen Elofsson, Kim Fransson)
Let That Feeling Grow (Andreas Carlsson, Kim Fransson, Fredrik Hallström)
The Hardest Lesson (Andreas Carlsson, Desmond Child, Kim Fransson)
Another State of Mind (Andreas Carlsson, Kim Fransson, Fredrik Hallström)
Man in the Moon (Kim Fransson, Fredrik Hallström)
Here Comes the Night (Andreas Carlsson, Anders Bagge, Kim Fransson, Fredrik Hallström, Harry Sommerdahl)

Once again - quality not quantity. This is truly a great debutalbum from Kim. He's co-written every single track which is good. Once again, if you don't like TFD you will not like the album either. I think it's got some great songs, and many potential hits.

Any way of viewing the full episodes of "made in sweden" ? Especially the studio footage.

I tried to navigate trough some swedish sites but it´s very complicated to find what you want if you dont speak the language.
