We can expect Want To Want Me's & Jealous's reducts.
I think this will be Zayn Malik's year.
Close doesn't sound at all to Mattman & Robin.
On wikipedia appeared Shellback as a producer on "Under You" does anyone know where they can get this info? or it's just plainly made out?
If this is real then Ali and him would be amazing, even though he isn't credited as a writer.
I love Close. I'm excited about this album, especially with Max! That would be great if Shellback co-produced Under You.
Who know how people know this stuff, maybe made up.
Here are more credits - it seems to be right!

It's pure bliss the song i can feel tho it's an old Ali song worked out, sounds pretty much like a recycle of style.
It's from old sessions actually.
The song was recorded by Usher for his two-year delayed album.
I'm surprised about the Mattman & Robin tracks, quite different from what we've heard from them so far.

It's out now :)
I really like "Close". I especially love the lyric "'cause space was just a word made up by someone who's afraid to get close", and the amazing Tove Lo adlib near the end: "SO GET CLOSE BABE!" One thing I hate though is the part where the music drops out and it's meant to be the climax and Nick squeals "...cloooooose". So feeble and takes me out of the intense atmosphere of the song.
I think I love "Touch", although I'm not convinced it won't soon turn out to be annoying. Disagree that it's unlike Mattman & Robin's previous work though? It's very much in that whispering-close-to-the-mic vibe of "Hands To Myself". Very ear-wormy melodically, and schizophrenic, paranoid production. Not on the level of amazingness that Selena's track reached though; a big part of that is how comparatively weak Touch's bridge is. Bit of a nonevent compared to the world-beating "I mean I could, but why I would want to?" Iconic.
'I go from touching you with both hands / To touching you with no hands' has been in my head all day though.
"Under You" is a very competent "Style" 2.0 (or "Jealous"/"Do What U Want"/"Love Me Harder" 5.0). That hook is big. But when you have "Style", it's almost like why bother listening to this? The big difference between the two is this one sounds like 5 minutes of work went into the production.
Other than that, 'Chainsaw' is a nice 'Jealous' rewrite, and 'Champagne Problems' has cool verses. Nothing else grabbed me.
One thing's for sure though: Mattman & Robin's work here is 50x better than on that Gwen Stefani calamity.
I still don't listen the album in full, active listening... but I agree about the blandness.
And uberweiss, if you think Mattman and Robin do "schizophrenic, paranoid production", you need to listen stuff like Kaytranada, Flume or the twisted R&B of James Blake. I absolutely love his new record.
I would suggest Robin Hannibal as a collaborator here. If they were planning a laidback stuff for him, less teen orientated Robin was the best choice.
His songs on Yuna's last album are quite beautiful.
Here is the video

Under You is reminiscent of Taylor Swift's Style which is the best song of 1989, but it is also amazing, though. Max Martin knows the taste of a good pop song.
Currently I can't get over how good "Unhinged" is.
It should have been a BSB song.

Well written and produced.
This reminds me of the old dance-pop summer songs. Great style and beautifully crafted.
Jack & Coke never disappoints me, the songs they did for Kerli were great.

Never heard about them.
Now I know they wrote Euphoria, under other production name.
They did some songs for JoJo latest album, and a few remixes, but mostly Kerli demos.

After almost 6 years of hiatus the Jonas are back with current gen producers.
Producer
Frank Dukes
Ryan Tedder
Composer
Louis Bell
Nick Jonas
Kevin Jonas
Frank Dukes
Ryan Tedder
Joe Jonas
I'm impressed that Frank Dukes and Louis can make such a variety of beats, it's very pop-rock-ish.
The comeback has been so far very widely anticipated in the music industry, many of the writers and producers liked their Instagram posts like James Alan, Savan Kotecha, Sean Douglas, RedOne, Bonn, MoZella, Ross Golan, Simon Wilcox, among others.
I didn't expect a single. Sounds like a darker DNCE track.
Love it.

Album out. The Greg Kurstin produced tracks sound great.
Love his drum programming layered with live drums, his soft sounding synths, the square leads with lots of reverb in big sounding choruses.
Shellbacks production is super catchy. With lots of real instruments he also played. And he sings. And of course Byland in the orchestra.
"Don't throw it away" must be a single.
I recognize most of Shellback's soundbank, it's very catchy indeed.
"Only Human" is giving me "One More Night" vibes. Love it!
Don't Throw It Away is excellent. great songwriting and production from Greg; really stellar song. Love that one, Every Single Time, Strangers, & Rollercoaster.

The drum programming! Slightly distorted <3
I don't like the topline though. Strangers is my fave.
The guys performed at Tiny Desk.

New song coming this Friday featuring Karol G, shellback tweeted about it.
Can't stand Karol G.
Apparently they will release two songs at the same time. One called X featuring Karol G and another one called Five More Minutes

hold on boys Shellback is coming back! Lol
Ryan Tedder, Shellback and Ali Tamposi - and then such a song.
Chorus sounds like Adam Levine, the song itself sounds simply boring.
I know I'll have this song stuck in my head very shortly, sadly it's a big collaboration that should blow my mind but doesn't.

I thought the same! Is this Maroon 5? hahaha
The outro ended so soon! That sax solo in the end sounds like he borrow something from Max of the work he's done with The Weeknd.

New album Spaceman is out, produced by Greg Kurstin and co-written with Maureen McDonald.
I'm obsessed with this album, there's a deluxe version featuring a new song by Greg and another one by Jason Evigan, The Monsters & Strangerz and Ryan Tedder with the Jonas Brothers, this track is good on its own but it's not cohesive with the rest of the album.
Greg did an amazing job here, specially by joining the tracks seamlessly.
Man, the sound design... another level.
Very Max + Taylor in 1989.
The Monsters & Strangerz are EVERYWHERE.
I'm so excited as well! Even Rami in his Instagram acknowledged that he and Max haven't written a song together in 15 years, that means forever until tomorrow by MKTO max didn't co-wrote it with Rami, at least not in the same session.
Yeah, credits-wise Max also did the vocal arrangements on DNCE's truthfully, but I believe Rami refers to write together on the same place/session
I'm obsessed, stuck at first listen.
Loved it.
Top tier track, it also gives me 2010s vibes with the production and even the melody. It's nice to hear it nowadays. LOVE the chorus sort of "creeping" melody.

It's grown on me a lot as I've been listening! I love the "get lost in your halo, HA-LO" bit, so catchy. The vocal production is a bit weak in the verses, though, in my opinion. Joe's vocals in particular sound so artificial and Melodyned in the first verse, makes him sound kinda lifeless.
This was also my instant critique. Overall, the vocal production/editing was lacking. The weird Melodyned high notes sounding mechanic. If the vocals were more finely tuned, the song would be that much better.
Could this be a DNCE song?
