New song "Love Me Like You Do" by Ellie Goulding taken from the 50 shades of grey soundtrack will be released on the 8th.
KOTECHA S/MAX MARTIN/LO TOVE/PAYAMI A/ILYA
The single was written by Ilya Salmanzadeh, Tove Lo, Savan Kotecha, Max Martin and Ali Payami
Produced by: Max Martin and Ali Payami
Savan tweeted bout it.
Wow, Ellie + Max!
I'm SURE this is in the vein of Love Me Harder/Style...
You mean Insane by Flume, José? ;)
But yeah, Ali & Max - we know how this is going to sound. Yet very interesting since my wife has the best female voice out there!
It's here

Sounds a lot like Tove Lo's, at first I thought it was her.
I didn't like it.
I had no expectations and was surprised by the beauty of the verses. Wow!
The first chorus was boring.
But then the pre-chorus after the second verse and what happens then. :-* :-*
Great surprises. I am sure I will love this more with every listen.
First out in Sweden: https://itunes.apple.com/se/album/love-me-like-you-do-from-fifty/id953212626
Boring. Still not impressed with any of the work Max has done with Ilya.
HUGE record! Depending on the success of the movie, I think this could go Top 10 easily. Definitely a Top 40 hit.
Boring?!??!?!
This is fantastic. Beautiful, mellow, glorious, melodic... the building song structure. it's wonderful.
Very very good. Very well written and produced. Congrats to the team for kicking off 2015 that good!
Meh.
We have different opinions about the song, as I can see...
It's good. High standards obviously but the chorus doesn't kill me. Verses and the pre/bridge are great though. If it's a major single for this movie we're gonna hear it a lot :).
Song is out in the US.
Make it another #1 for Max!!
Wow, really a great song!
OK, the rest of the Hot 100 can go home now, it's all over, because this song is gonna kill. And the way this song willl sound in a movie theater? Incredible.
I totally share georg_e's opinion. Beautiful beautiful song!
I had no interest at all seeing this movie in the theatre. But now I consider it, thinking such a great Max song will be played hopefully full in the credits.
It has been released in the US, MX, CA and in Scandinavia.
Other countries have to wait. Annoying.
PS: I've added it to the Cheiron playlist on Spotify.
Only reason I don't think this will hit #1 any time soon is because Uptown Funk is positioned to hold on to that spot for a while. I think it'll easily go Top 10.
wow, incredible song! I love it so much, it's so beautiful. Definitely Top 10 and hopefully No.1.
Already top 5 in iTunes US.
Go Max!!

... which would be richly deserved!!
Unbelievable, this song is not available to itunes Australia until 13 February 2015. I don't understand why all music isn't available at the same time around the world. It is so ridiculous.
Debuts at #45 Billboard Hot 100. Picking up steam on radio. Looks like another smash in the making for MXM.

Totally agree. Ridiculous. For example, Oath from Cher Lloyd never came out on iTunes México. I need to say it again: ridiculous.

Y'all need to chill and get a US iTunes account. ;)
And a Swedish one too, for the better.

yes indeed! we all do
anyway, great that the song has debuted at #45, it will be a hit for sure. This song could be one of my favourite songs ever.
The song continues to be awesome. :-)
The new single is expected to be out in March.
Collaborators include Greg Kurstin, Jim Eliot+Jemima Stillwell and Jimmy Napes.
Which song do you guys like better: Style by Taylor or this one? They are both gaining steam on the charts and it will be interesting to see which one does better. Either way, both will be up for #1 single #20 for Max. :)

The two songs are very different. I like both, but I think that LMLYD will do better on charts since it's ellie's first single, while Style is third.
It's not the first single from the soundtrack and the lead single off her new album is expected to be out in March.
Style is far superior, and will be a mammoth hit. Doesn't even go for radio adds for like a month and it's currently #12 on iTunes and #22 on pop radio.

I love the video
I can't decide which song I like better Style v LMLYD, it's impossible to choose for. I think Style will be a bigger hit.

Style is climbing radio Top 40 quickly. Currently #22. LMLYD is #27.
On Billboard, LMLYD is 36 (up from 45) and Style is 52 (up from 72).
On other metrics it looks like LMLYD has the edge, but both are well on their way up radio, streaming and sales charts.
With that said, Style is competing with Shake It Off and Blank Space, which are still monsters across all charts/metrics. They are starting to fall, and as they do, Style will likely move up to be another Top 10 and likely #1 for TS/MXM. LMLYD will sustain because of the movie, and there is a huge push behind Ellie, and I think it'll go Top 10 but not #1. Those are just my guesses.
"Style" is number one material and I think it will happen sooner or later.
I don't share feelings for LMLYD with some of you guys. Ellie did very well on the charts with "Burn" but I think that song was way, way better then LMLYD.

I agree, but top 10 is only possible because of the movie and all the hype behind Ellie, not because of the song itself IMO.

Unfortunately, it's not always up to the song itself, as you know. ;-) As much as I love these Taylor songs, she can release pretty much anything right now and it will be a monster. It's just the power of her brand. The songs happen to be amazing though.
Interesting how tastes differ, as I was never actually a fan of "Burn." Good song, but never quite got the hook. In fact I've never quite been a fan of Ellie's until this song.
Re: Style as a song, I understand why they released it as the next single, but it's not one my top favorites off the album. I think "Bad Blood" and "All You Had To Do Was Stay" are much cooler songs, personally.

Yeah, but it will be well deserved with Style...what I couldn't say about Blank Space :).

Do you know her first album? Great pop music all along.
Yeah, heard the first one.
I do like Blank Space better than Style, personally.

2) Love Me Like You Do (From "Fifty Shades Of Grey" / Instrumental)
Max Martin did also vocals on the track. I count 10 vocalists on the track.
Out in the UK and already #1 on iTunes.
The song has the old school epic BSB feel to it. I can hear Brian all over the chorus.
To celebrate the song - full credits. Will get the 2-track as soon as it comes out. I really think it's a masterpiece. So poppy.
And I'd love to hear Tove Lo sing the song.

Means one mic an all sing at the same time?
I tried stripping the vocals and its not layered enough to hear them out individually, sneaky bastards!

Either like that (if you have everyone in the same room) or individually.
I can't get the "I let you set the pace" part out of my head.
How would you call that part? It's not the chorus, but a pre-chorus? Bridge?
Did noone notice that there's been a mistake in the topic's title? Haha.
"Max [comma] Savan [comma] Kotecha" XD
Always thought Savan and Kotecha were the same guy. :P
The soundtrack is out. It's a really good collection of songs, some of them recently released.
I'm happy for Laura Welsh and Vaults for getting this kind of exposure, I love both.
And to me, the Ellie song has nothing to do with the rest of the songs...

Pre-Chorus that was skipped in first time.
On pace to crack Top 10 Billboard this week. If not, certainly next week.
It went No.1 in UK
No surprise. Ellie always does well in her home country. Well deserved!
#9 in the Billboard charts. Get the #1!
There are 3 Max's songs in top 10, and Style is coming!
I've read that the song is indeed played in the film during a scene. Amazing.
would love to hear the songs of people who voted "average/boring" ;D
I voted average.
A friend of mine who saw the film told me that the chorus lyrics are different (Kiss me like you do or something like that). Anyone has the film version?

maybe "whip me like you do" would be more fitting for the film
I saw the film today, yes, the song has different lyrics - "hold me like you do", "ki-ki-kiss me like you do" and then "what are we waiting for?" and also they flipped around another part of the song. This is during the helicopter scene. I've been trying to search for it but can't find it.
Did you like it?
A couple days ago I heard a couple of girls at the supermarket talking about how bad was the movie and Jamie Dornan not being a good representation of Grey.
Yes, I did like it. I haven't read the books so I don't know if Jamie Dornan was like Grey in the book. However, I liked Jamie Dornan a lot! he is gorgeous. Dakota Johnson is really pretty. Grey's apartment in the movie is beautiful as well. The dialogue is terrible, it was hard not to laugh. The movie is a little slow, it's completely ridiculous, the same way that fan fictions are ridiculous. However, overall I liked it.
this is Max' best song since In A World Like This!
#3.
The 20th #1 is so close.
Anybody else hear Roxette's it must have been love in this? Seems to be cut from the same cloth. I often wonder on these collaborations who did which part. I hear Max in the verse, Tove Lo in the chorus. But who do we think wrote that amazing pre chorus?

Sounds like Max chorus to me. I think Pre too.
#4 on Hot 100, #6 on Top 40 radio. Has a real shot at #1 Hot 100.
Does anyone know (or has read) what Max contributed to "Love Me Like You Do" ?
One thing I noticed is that he played a lot of instruments on it. So I guess that means there's a strong chance that the track ideas came from him -
though there's 1 other writer credited with keys and programming and bass as well.
I'm tempted to say the vocal tune sounds Max-ish, but again there are like 4 other writers (Max disciples I think) so it's hard to say for sure.
maybe you'd like to discuss this here: http://www.swedishsongs.de/smf/index.php?topic=2916.0
thanks sorry didn't see the other threads.. feel free to tell the admin to delete this,..
I really want to know what part Tove Lo played in this team.
Btw - maybe the song started like this:
Acoustic version by Ella Henderson
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=96V31MwTUpY
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SWRkIKTuYuc
I think this sounds way better than the original song.
sounds like a Beatles song now
PS: ewww, that abrupt modulation was SO unnecessary
I was randomly listen to music and "Close to Close" recorded by Shayne Ward -written by Arnthor Birgisson, Savan and Max- appeared.
I inmediately thought about Ellie's.

A Max + Ali Payami track.
Ellie Goulding talks about the song youtu.be/Uui1Kjg0pmY (https://youtu.be/Uui1Kjg0pmY?t=51):
There were 50 back-vocal lines (or back-vocalists?)
She spent 9 hours in the booth.
She records without a track in the earphones, only with metronome clicking.
Also about On My Mind: Love Me Like You Do was so popular, so they just decided to write more. It was the first hip-hop song for her and the chorus is an alien to her.
