         Only one I can think of is Billy Steinberg: pretty much the top lyricist.  Of course, I love Bonnie McKee too :-)

Depends on genre and target audience. Check out Savans stuff (Kotecha), Bonnie Mckee, and I would recommend some pop country writers like rodney clawson (see "Sure be cool if you did" and "Hell Raisin Heat of The Summer" are amazing lyrics he wrote). And then of corse the Beatles. All in all... study what you like!
