Title: Kristine (2015)
Post by: Addicted2Melody on June 21, 2016, 06:10:22 AM
Just heard this album today and was curious if anyone else on here was a fan. Super feel-good teenage anthemic 80s driving music. In an alternate version of 2010 Max and Luke (and maybe Mutt Lange) would have taken this to crazy heights  :)

Sounds good, though I don't like the girl's voice at all.

I hear what you're saying about the vocals. Her lower breathy register sounds really cool to me - like a female Bryan Adams or something, but I can totally hear her straining when she breaks into the higher register especially on tracks later in the record.

What I think is so cool about this album is how it's basically a "how can we take the feeling/vibe of Don Henley's "The Boys Of Summer" and stretch it across an entire record?" In this respect it mostly succeeds, with slight detours into other suburbs of popular 80s pop/rock.

Fun drinking game with Kristine: take a drink every time she says "summer"  :)
