how does dr luke, max martin, and these people come up with songnames and lyrics for their songs?

who writes this stuff..
someone knows?

for example

QuoteThere's a place downtown where the freaks all come around
It's a hole in the wall, it's a dirty free for all
And they turn me on, when they take it off
When they take it off, everybody take it off

does they write this? and how does they know what it will sound like when the lyrics is done? do they first write the lyrics and then make the melody or write the melody and use it later and write the text?

There's not one set order. It really depends... In terms of lyrics, most songs have at least two co-writers. and in Ke$ha's case, a bunch of people cowrite on a song (as well as Katy, Britney, etc. Anyone who works with Luke and his team. Cirkut usually cowrites). Take It Off was her, Luke, and Claude Kelly. Ke$ha probably brings melodic or lyrical ideas to Luke and he and the engineer put a rough cut of the instrumental track together. Then Claude, Luke, and Kesha all collaborate on the lyrics. They probably had a simple idea in mind - like the "Take it off, take it off, everybody take it off!" or even just the chord progression in the verse. We don't know for sure unless you ask one of them which idea came first.

If you watch this video, you see Claude in the studio with Benny Blanco, as he lays down a vocal melody idea on an instrumental track Benny had begun working on. Then later, we hear the demo with lyrics, not just phonetic gibberish:

At one part of this, Benny talks about he and Luke coming up with the California Gurls riff. Then Katy gets on board with writing (As well as Max). Then Bonnie will probably add lyrics here and there, like on Last Friday Night, she wrote the rhyme "think I need a ginger ale, that was such an epic fail."

It's a great mini doc. The song he does with Claude was probably something he was working on with Neon Hitch during their sessions. Wish we could hear all the songs they cut...
