nah not to good. Similar to unconditionally
I like it. Great lyrics and vocals from Pink.
It is a grower. But for a lead single of the new era pretty weak.
I agree with you both, guys.
I expected a Greg Kurstin banger!

Greg Kurstin has only one song on the album — Where We Go (https://www.ascap.com/repertory#ace/search/title/Where%20We%20Go/writer/kurstin).
And Max Martin has nothing new registered with Alecia Moore on Ascap yet.
Well, the list of collaborators include Steve Mac, Johnny McDaid, Max Martin, Shellback, Jack Antonoff, Julia Michaels, Greg Kurstin and busbee.
Busbee does not produce, I hope Greg is all over the project. I love his sound.

Yes, absolutely, very similar to Just Like Fire, without the weird synths, which could be Oscar Holter differences with his absence in this song.
"Whatever You Want." The track was produced and written by Max Martin and Shellback along with additional writing credits from Pink. The pop star has already released singles "What About Us" and "Beautiful Trauma."
Whatever you want - I love the songwriting but production wise it's safe and boring. Max could have invited Mattman & Robin to work on Pink record. Great songwriting plus the "magic touch" those guys have? It would be perfect.
Upon the first few listens I'm not feeling the verses (bab-eh! part) too much but I enjoy the pre-chorus and chorus. Then the post-chorus I find that melody icky, the way she drops the "whatever you want...ahh-aah" line it's almost boringly delivered. But again, the chords in the chorus are lovely.
I don't feel the song. It's like they just do the standard program - nothing in comparison to what they did already as a team.
P!nk also refuses to work with Dr Luke again - stating he is "not a good person".
I wonder how all the hits happened when the atmosphere with Dr Luke is always that awful.
Reminds me of Blank Space a bit.
Not my fave.
The credits are here:

There are 3 Max songs.
"Revenge" (featuring Eminem)
W: Moore Marshall Mathers, Karl Sandberg, Karl Schuster
P: Max Martin,Shellback
"Whatever You Want"
W: Moore, Sandberg, Schuster
P: Martin
"Secrets"
W: Moore, Sandberg, Schuster, Oscar Holter
P: Martin, Shellback, Holter
Wow, and some WF songs, is max the only producer on whatever you want? If so... it'd be the first time in almost 10 years that max is the only one producing a song.
According to wikipdia there is even one more:
"For Now"
Moore, Michaels, Mattias Larsson, Robin Fredriksson, Sandberg

Seems like a few more people call Shellback Johan instead of Karl

Taylor calls him Johan as well.
Lorde must know Max and Shellback because of Taylor.
And I'm currently listening Beautiful Trauma and the first thing I hear is chimes and strings, like a Christmas song... :-\
Such a surprise to see The Struts on the credits. Loved the song.
But my absolute favorite tracks are the Greg Kurstin produced ones.
The da da da-da do dodo's in Secrets are SO Max.
Not really feeling any of the three tracks.
I expected more Greg Kurstin and Billy Mann songs in the album.
Revenge is a banger, a huge one.
P!nk should release that as the second single, hoping for it to be the N1 Max song of this year.
Yeah appears Revenge is the 2nd single. It's a cool tune, quite compelling in how weird it is.
But has anyone else noticed the enormous resemblance to 'Because I Got High' by Afroman? I hope they paid some sort of rights on that, otherwise they're gunna get so sued.. much more of a copy that Blurred Lines was! And a Max Martin lawsuit would be mad, big news probably!... No mention of Afroman or anyone else on the credits (as a sample/interpolation or as a writer other than Max/Shellback/Pink/Eminem)...
I'm also surprised that no one kicked up a fuss about "Hey Ya!" and "Shake It Off", that was also pretty blatent copying of the whole drum part, which they even admitted to (though much less striking than this one). Maybe they're just paying off these other people in private agreements?
Because I Got High' by Afroman - this was my first association.
I wonder what happened behind the scenes. Taylor credited Right Said Fred for even less obvious interpolations.
What About Us could've been an absolute smash but the screams from the mid8 on are so super annoying. Completely overproduced and simply unnecessary. Are there other people in here who feel this way?
Whatever You Want: My favorite from the album. Sometimes it's "simple" productions like this, that make a song special. It's sad to see it's barely appreciated by you. @turnaround in the meantime wiki says "prod. by Max & Shellback". I don't think we'll ever get a solo Max production again.
Barbies is wonderful.
Where We Go is a smash!
For Now is too JM-esque, she should've used it for her EP instead what would've been a dumb decision economically.
Secrets is quite disappointing, weak chorus.
Better Life is such a cool song, Jack Antonoff on the beat 8)
You Get My Love is simply awful with all that screaming and these overproduced vocals.

Many of today's pop stars owe Dr Luke their careers and should be grateful to him. I don't know if he's a good person or not, but he delivered big time... and let's be honest, super talented/highly intelligent tend to be disturbed in some way, either emotionally or character wise (or both). I'm not trying to justify a rape or any kind of creepy and violent behaviour but it looks like those Kesha's accusation were false.
Is Max part of the documentary?

Nope, not even a mention if I remember well.

Remember this one was written by Oscar Holter, Shellback, Max Martin & P!nk ;)
Oh God, it's like she doesn't want to put any kind of effort in these videos. It's not on the same level as the song, although most of my friends doesn't see this song as radio-friendly.
New album announced, out April 26th.
No Max Martin or the Cousins on the credits but there's a couple of interesting co-writes: Greg Kurstin + Beck, Teddy Geiger and Ryan Tedder plus The Monsters and the Strangers, Peter Thomas, Sasha Sloan, Wrabel + Steve Robson and UK singer Jetta (check her, she did some good stuff with Jim Elliott & Jemima Stillwell, they wrote many songs for/with Kylie Minogue, Will Young and Ellie Goulding).
New pre order is Hurts 2B Human and features Khalid.

It makes sense, this one has a wurly -or is it a rhodes? I can't tell because it's filtered- and Revenge has a rhodes.
At first listen I only liked the Greg Kurstin co-writes.
She needs to stick with her collaborators: Greg Kurstin brings the best out of her ALWAYS.
To me, this looks like a rush release. Is this her last release through RCA?
The album is very good overall, it's very powerful, Greg Kurstin songs are on point, the collaborations of the Wolf Cousin's are great, Max input is the most disappointing thing but it's still a grower for me.
I love how she handles working with old and new people at the same time.

A few days ago I stumbled upon Hey Why (Miss You Sometime) and really liked it! In the meantime I had forgotten this song is written and produced by Shell Martin. When I found that out I was just thinking "Oh they did it again".

Did you pay attention to the sample where Pink sings on a high note "big" throughout the song? I've realized it existed after the fifth time I listened the song and it makes it so much better.

Funny: I read your comment earlier this day but was into other music.
Now the song came up again by accident and I recognized the high note without thinking of it. However, it bothers me that the "time" after "big" isn't doubled high as well.
I'm not a big fan of all the bunch of these songs Max and Johan did with rhodes.
Such a lovely song. Great production and lyrics...
New Max/Shellback song tomorrow. "Never Gonna Not Dance Again"

Written by P!nk, Max Martin and Shellback
Produced by Max Martin and Shellback
P!nks siblings and Doris Sandberg provides vocals as well
Stale AF. The counter-melody towards the end is a cute Max moment, but it's a very disappointing CTSF! knock-off. Max's quality control has declined these last few years sadly.
I like that the structure is atypical from Max and shellback, it lacks some punch but I think it will get stuck anyway.
I still love the vocal arrangements
I loved it instantly, it reminds me to Cant stop the feeling, the bridge and the energy of the chorus are amazing, best Max song this year so far.
Mm, not into it.
I don't mind this at all, actually it's better than I expected. I love the build up and the explosion of the chorus, the extended instrumental breakdown, the live instrumentation, and Pink's vocal delivery.
It's not as polished as Can't Stop the Feeling and I'm a bit bewildered that for a Max/Shellback production some of the vocals feel a bit rough. But I think that lends itself to a more "live" feel. The melody is great and overall it's a fun light song. Similar in sound scape to Shake it Off and 2 Be Loved
I wonder if we'll ever get dance pop Max again..
It reminds me of Under You by Nick Jonas with all the double negatives.
