Probably the most anticipated albums by far.
Which of these albums do you think will have more influence. Media-wise and success-wise.
Lady Gaga of course but the Katy Perry album will be much better!!
I don't agree with "by far"! Don't you forget Drake & Britney Spears, also Miley Cyrus.
I kind of doubt Drake or Miley Cirus will be as highly anticipated as these two, probably not even Britney. Gaga's last album underperformed but I think people will still be eager to see what she comes back with, and given Katy's recent success I think people will be naturally expecting big things.

In Hip Hop circles people are starving for Drake's album. Including me :D
I don't anticipate anything more than his album.
After that Katy, Miley, Britney and last but not least Gaga.
But there are so many great albums to come: Juicy J, Big Sean, 2 Chainz, DJ Khaled, Jason Derulo, Jessie J, Rihanna ... It's going to be an expensive year for me :D
Oh yeah I have no doubt people are anticipating them, I just don't think it's on the same scale numbers wise as Gaga & Perry.
I am highly anticipating Katy Perry's album, although I am very interested to see what Gaga comes up with. I couldn't guess who will sell more, I suppose Lady Gaga will.
Katy had really a perfect choice of singles and everything about the release campaign was amazing.
For Katy it will be hard to top the success of "Teenage Dream" but I guess Gaga can easily be more succesful with Artpop than she was with "Born this way".
I also have a big list with releases I am looking forward, but I guess Katy and Perry will be in another league.

As will Lady and Gaga! ;D

Lol, also Britney and Spears :D
that's a really really tough question in my opinion. I don't think it's that crystal clear. Gaga will certainly try to provoke but the expectations to her are even higher than to Perry, IMO. Not because of the chart success, but rather because everyone expects Gaga to go down an even riskier route than Perry.
Im excited for the Zedd productions on Artpop. He's an excellent EDM producer - and he's German :D

You're right, people will have higher expectations of Gaga and be waiting to see what she does, but I still think there will be just as many people holding out for Katy's record, probably minus the artistic curiosity. I just think their fan bases must be fairly equal, so as many people should be waiting for each. But there's probably wider interest in the content of Gaga's new work from even her not so die hard fans.

LOL
Red Luke and Dr. One up in arms!!
Thinking before posting *notetomyself*
I agree that the fan-bases will probably similar in size, but Gaga draws even more mass-media interest.

zedd...
oh noe..
nooo!! NOT ZEDD. he ruined all songs he made collaborations with!
Now that I've had to choose between the two, I just took a risk and went Katy. She had more success last time and over a more sustained period, but who's to say it wont swap around this time and be the same for Googoo. I do agree with Axel though that the mass media attention will be on Artpop, at least initially.
The marketing strategies for PRISM are superb and obviously pretty effective! Almost every German magazine covered already the album title (at least online). But Lady Gaga will sell more, I'm pretty sure.

That's exciting that Zedd is working with Gaga, now I'm excited about Lady Gaga's album too.
I'm excited for both , but I have more hopes for Katy cause it will have Max and Dr luke songs.

Same, I only like a few of her tracks, but she's definitely an empire of an artist for whatever reason. All the theatrics probably.
Definitely GaGa sales and impact. Katy Perry was never an album seller, she only sells singles, although of course I like her better since she's more pop and collaborates with our guy Max but she has no chance getting in the way of GaGa!

Honey those are overall figures, what I meant was first week sales, that's how you prove yourself!

Not agreed
I don't agree either.
Adele's album wasn't huge in the first week, but boy was it huge for the following 1-2 years. :)

how would it even make sense that you prove yourself with the first week sales?!
it's about longevity!

When you sell around nine hundered thousand copy it means you proved you are big enough to even make another three albums. I never liked slow album sellers unless you're a debut!

90000 k = 90,000,000 :D of course you can make another three albums then lol! :D
90,000 isn't really that much is it?!

Probably all this says is that 62% of people who voted are Gaga fans... surely the whole sample base aren't fans of both.
I'm waitin' 4 both albums :)
I know I'll like Katy's album better.
I still wanna listen to the stuff GaGa recorded with Zedd and Madeon tho'.

oh that is fantastic!
As far as the two lead singles go, here in Australia Katy has entered at #3 while GooGoo came in at #19. Not sure if they were released for sale here on the same day, but it would seem there's more interest in Katy for now.
ROAR really seems to be more succesful right now. Maybe Gaga needs a bit more time as it isn't that instant as ROAR.
