Hey! I was just wondering if you'd heard anything about Avril working with Max. Some of us fans are really curious because we'd heard she might be working with him, but it hasn't exactly been confirmed. So if you hear anything, can you please post? Thanks!

I think Avril and Max are a great match. I loved "Alone" but I don't think Avril even needs Max, no matter what she comes out with it will go No.1

You're right, she's already perfectly fine with the Matrix and Dr Luke but still, I would bery very curious to hear some songs with Max to have a new sound and definately hits!

I found the skater girl stuff annoying and the gloomy songs boring, but Girlfriend and the other Dr Luke songs were great fun and very well written and produced. Some of Luke's best work, I think, although Megan McCauley's Tap That and The Veronicas' 4ever will always my favourites
I think TBDT is her best work......a song like keep holdin on is a mesterpiece and it's my fav avril's ballad.
My fave Avril song is Innocence, is it also Butch who wrote it?

btw, welcome. I had a look at Avril Bandaids and saw the post where you guys are discussing her possibly working with Max. Avril fans are pretty diehard! It seemed pretty much 50/50 for/against working with Max, perhaps more saying they weren't happy with it... It was very interesting to read other's thoughts. I'm like 'who wouldn't be excited about her working with Max!' but I can understand the criticism, they don't want Avril sounding like Pink/Kelly/Katy and they want Avril to write her own songs not just come in and record a song.
Yes, I'm very surprised fans were disappointed with her last album, only because "Girlfriend" was such a massive hit, just thought everyone just loved her whole album.
I like Avril working with The Matrix too, though probably won't happen.

welcome also Poptasticuk. In the early days I didn't really like her either even though Complicated always got stuck in head! I couldn't stand Skater Boy either (or it Sk8ter Boi!? haha). But became a fan with Mobile, My Happy Ending, Falling to Pieces. The last album was only okay for me but just assumed all fans loved it because it was Avril.

I prefer Keep Holding On to I'm With You, because I think her singing is nicer, and I prefer the melody too. I'm With You is a bit shrieky for me!

Ha! Yes, we're die-hard. See, we know Max is a hit maker, but a lot of us thinks many hits these days sound the same. We're not concerned with the hits. We just want good music from Avril.
I really like The Matrix and it would be great if Avril could work with them again, but I don't think that's going to be happening. I'm not a fan of Dr. Luke. I don't like the stuff he produced. I like Butch. I don't have a problem with him.

A lot of people didn't like Avril until Girlfriend. I personally loved her before The Best Damn Thing came along. I liked her when she was a teenager. I thought she was a beautiful, young talented girl. I'm sorry for anyone who really enjoyed TBDT and didn't like her before, but I have to totally disagree. Avril won us over with a different type of music and with TBDT, we got something we weren't really expecting. In my opinion, Avril's better with stuff like Let Go and Under My Skin. She doesn't need Max Martin. I know she isn't the best songwriter, but if she's going to be producing hits, I think they better be catchy AND meaningful. If she makes another TBDT, a lot of fans are going to leave her. She can't pull something like that off again. It would cost her too much.
BTW, Mobile is my favorite Avril song, then Nobody's Fool!

I'm With You is one of the greatest ballads ever written in the 2000s...It has such strong lyrics,melodies and deep feelings in it,I also love the music video.
I absolutely hate TBDT (the album),it had some mediocre songs like I Don't Have to Try and fillers like One of Those Girls and Contagious..These 2 songs are catchy but the production is really crap !!! Some of the better songs are TBDT,When You're Gone,Innocence,I Can Do Better,Runaway (sounds repetitive and generic but it was the only pop/rock song we could get from the album) and Girlfriend (the verses are perfect,they sound very Avril but the chorus is nothing special).

Still not completely in love, I think it's a good song, but "Girlfriend" was a much stronger comeback single in my honest opinion, I dont know!

it's a very well made song, but given so much of max's stuff is out there this feels generic, and sort of agree her vocal delivery is a tad gimicky, but max's songs do tend to work a treat here in australia, if radio pick it up...
The chorus is catchy, but it's kinda of the songs you get bored of so quickly, Side note and I don't think I need to mention it the song sounds like my Life Would Suck Without You.

I love it as well, I actually think it's better than both "What The Hell" and "Smile", she should've come back with it.

The song for me is the best of the album.
This is the best song on the album, as Feelgoodlies stated earlier I wish this was her comeback single, I'm sure it would've been huge.
Great song! I'm so glad she's released three Max/Shellback singles in a row, but yeah pitty Smile flopped. I wonder if it's down to promotion, cos it's certainly not a weak track. Hope Wish You Were Here performs a lot better.
