groovy! This one flows really nicely. Good job, Mr. Shellback. I think it reminds me of a Lady Gaga track but I can't remember yet which one.
And Moves like Jagger is also a bit in it.
Great song , good job!
Yeah it has bit of MLJ but this is actually far better, loved this.
Can't wait for the release!
Loving it

I expected something more dancy after All Over The World and Riot but the song is really nice. Wondering how it will go for Ola with it. Chorus sticks from the first listen.
I love it too.
Single is out now

Uplifting! Could become a great Radio Hit.
This is getting a proper release in Europe now.
Out in Germany soon and it's already on the radios.
Hopefully this will be a big hit!!
I'm totally in Lo-o-ove with this song at the moment. It almost annoyed me on first listen, then got stuck in my head for days, and now it's one of my favourites of the year.
alright Joshua, your final comment really tells me that I have to check it out when I'm back home from work. ;-)

Oh no, now I'm slightly worried you won't like it and you'll forever judge my taste in music based on my recommendation! ;D But really, the first part of the chorus is cool, but then it just gets so much better when it builds into the second "and I say why-y-y" part, that's what makes it for me.
noted! Will let you know. ;)
sounds a little Eurovision, doesn't it ? ;D

You're right, it totally does haha!
It would be amazing if Shellback and Ola do something for next Melodifestivalen.
Joshua: Alright, I listened to it. Boy does it rock. Does it start to be a tradition for Shellback to start out new songs with just the bassdrum? Was the same with "Raise your glass". :-)
great melody, catchy hooks. Does it gain momentum in the charts anywhere?

"Moves Like Jagger" is similar in that way too! Glad you liked it. I don't think it has officially charted anywhere, apart from iTunes months ago. Hopefully people will still support the proper release when it happens. I think it has worldwide potential.
so it has not been released officially yet?
Apparently today is it's official release date! Not sure what happened though, it was online back in May, with a video in July.
We get it tomorrow :D
http://www.amazon.de/Im-In-Love/dp/B009OX7BLU/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1351177684&sr=8-2
Oh oops I should've just said the 26th. Assuming that's your tomorrow? I'm half a day ahead here. :D
Not that Australia would get a release anyway. I assume the UK will though? Or is Ola not big there?
:D
I love that you are always ahead, so when songs are released globally you are always the first to be able to download it.
UK doesn't get it I think. They released it in Greece a few days ago, 26th Germany, and I guess some others countries will follow.
Not sure about their release strategy.
And I hope Ola will be big, so far I'm probably one of the minority of estimated 10 people who know him ;)
BTW - not a big fan or remixes, but these are cool.
Speaking German https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=M8cMYJFIVIY
Impressive, not that I'd know if he's speaking it very well. ???
Having only heard two of his songs, I just went through his single discography and had a listen to most of them on YouTube. I had no idea his first single was the same "Rain" that Australian artist Anthony Callea released here in 2005! I must say Ola's video for it is plain terrible, but hey it was early days with low budgets. I can't believe how un-edgy he was up until his last album, he's changed so much.
Has "I'm In Love" charted anywhere yet? I can't find it anywhere.
Italy Loves Ola! :)
I'm In Love peaked at #4 on Italian Single Chart (FIMI), and It is becoming a great radio Hit!
So glad it's doing well, even so long after it's release!
I want that album. In Germany it was a small radio hit I think. Great Italy gives some love to Ola.
this is greeeeat!
The production on the song is flawless, I love how clean it sounds. The lyrics are so-so, but the melodies are catchy as hell. The stutter on the verses that go like Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah sound so dumb, but that's what grabs you instantly, besides the guitar riff obviously.
Two more songs on ascap with quite promising line-up + new song (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4G49wMIcQlU) that I guess was written with Urban Cone.
Jackie Kennedy (Alexander Kronlund, Shellback, Svante Halldin, Jakob Hazell, Ola)
Tonight I'm Yours (Alexander Kronlund, Shellback, Patrik Berger, Dimitri Stassos, Max Grahn, Kristofer Östergren, Ola)
OOH, waiting so bad for new Ola material. He has lots of little gigs in Europe. Now it's time to release something.
And Shellback also was pretty invisible concerning releases. So bring it on!!!
So happy, finally a new song:
"Maybe"
Ola, Klas Åhlund, Alexander Kronlund and Kristofer Östergren.

Yeah, you're right, definitely a strong electro feel to this... it's almost not what people would consider mainstream pop (a bit like Robyn).

I don't like that chorus. At all.
The production sounds good though, reminds me of Agnes Carlsson latest release.
I think the chorus is very good, but the verses kinda disappoint 'cause Ola's vocals sound dead, he can belt out the big notes though.
Yeah in the first verse his low vocal sounds like Example to me, not sure it needs to knock your socks off at that point though, so I think it's fine. I'm in love with the chorus more than anything, it really grabs me in a anthemic sort of way.
Maybe
Live again.

I think that song suits him pretty well, his vocals just explode in the chorus.

Yeah "Jackie Kennedy" is mentioned on his Facebook page as the new international single and follow-up to "I'm In Love", they're releasing it in Italy first of course. I guess they might release "Maybe" outside of Sweden after that.
Meanwhile, here's a pic from the upcoming "Maybe" video, I can't wait!

Not sure I'm a fan just yet.
Love Jackie Kennedy, sounds like a funkier version of "Barbara Streisand".
Sounds like Moves Like Jagger to me, who produced this? Shellback and Benny Blanco?
I like Kim Cesarion's new single better.
"Jackie Kennedy" was released 2 weeks ago in MALTA but nowhere else in the world yet?! LMFAO. Kidding me?? :o

They probably want to dominate small markets first rather than having unbalanced charts with it being released everywhere, smart move.
I don't get the release strategy.
"I'm in love" was a big hit in Italy and so they (and Malta) get Jackie Kennedy. But does it do anything there?
I thought "Maybe" was the Swedish single. Did it chart?
I want that album NOW.
According to scandipop it's to 'reward' Italy for getting "I'm In Love" so high up the Italian charts. Uhm... ???

Uhm yes. It holds the #73 spot in Italy. Wow. :o
And in Malta it is..uhm... nowhere in sight within the TOP200 chart - but considering that they currently have Bruno Mars' "Just The Way You Are" and Snow Patrol's "Chasing Cars" in their TOP10, maybe we should give "Jackie" a good couple of years to make its way to the top. LOL

Well I still think labels are releasing music for no other reason than cold hard CASH - and I doubt they'll earn much of that by releasing it exclusively to MALTA (where it doesn't even make the TOP200 lol).
I don't get the point of iTunes' stupid country restrictions anyways - once a song is out in
one local iTunes store, it takes a day and the file is available for illegal download all over the net. Then tons of people who are waiting for the song to become available download it illegally just for the simple reason that it's not available in their country's local store. RCs lose SO MUCH money due to that.
So why not put a song out in ALL the iTunes stores worldwide from day one?
I figured they think "Jackie Kennedy" will perform better in Italy and Malta given it's similar vibe to "I'm In Love", and they think it'll keep the winning streak going.
I'm getting impatient for the "Maybe" music video.
BTW you can download "Jackie Kennedy" on the mobile shop of 7digital. There is no country restriction.

I tried using the mobile site, but they require an italian credit card, otherwise:
QuoteSorry, in accordance with our contractual obligations with record labels, you can make purchases on the site 7digital.it only if you live in Italy. Please connect to your local store de.7digital.com to make purchases. If you've accessed 7digital.it from one location in Italy, please contact our customer service team which will resolve the problem. Thanks for your understanding!

In Chile, if you sell 1000 copies in a week you're in the #1 on iTunes.
If you have a #1 on iTunes on small countries -easy to achieve!- you can do some press about it and get some attention on bigger markets.

I agree, I agree. Still they could release it worldwide on the same date. THEN do the promo you mentioned and people who respond to it can buy it at their local store right away = $*KATCHING*$ for the rec comps.
The labels need to understand that we're not living in the 90s anymore where they could put a song out for radio promotion 4 weeks ahead of its commercial release and when people got hyped by all the airplay they would storm to their local record dealer to get a copy of the CD maxi single.
As I said, it's 2013 and the very moment a song leaks or gets released in ONE country, it's available worldwide - illegaly. That's the moment the RCs start losing money.
oh, weird. I managed to buy songs from Sweden, Norway, Ireland etc....
And yes, when will all labels realise that these days there are no boundaries regarding the internet.
Some labels understand already..

AWWWWWWWW!!!!! <3 "One day when we fall in love
it'll be just the two of us
they'll try but we won't give up
they don't know you the way that I do.
Dumb boys and the home run girls
make waves in the pop life world
they'll change but we'll keep our cool
they won't stay true, the way that we do.
One boy with a radio
off key but he's singing strong
keep his mind ready on the ball
gonna make it, they'll know, all on your own."

Why weird? A lot of songs are only released years after they've been written!
Well it's the time around "Love in Stereo" was released. He was a very different artist musically back then. (I feel)
So it's interesting the song matches the current era and album though it was created back then .
Maybe the time wasn't right until now to release this song. Or even more songs were written around that time.
Hahaha, no no! Ola wasn't working with Alexander Kronlund back then.
Alex wrote & recorded the song (among a dozen other demos) with Troy Bonnes in 2008! That's the demo I'm talking about. Troy was signed to Warner Chappell but never got to release his album, so they re-recorded the song with Ola now. :)
