Exclusive News
We’ve got very exciting news: the band are in the studio right now recording their next album!
It’s going to be a brand new studio album, and the guys have been working with a whole host of top producers including Steve Mac, Quiz/Larossi, Per + David, Jorgen Elofsson and Maratone (Rami, Antor + Savan).
Once the recording has finished at the end of August, the boys will be heading to a secret overseas location to shoot the video for the first single, as well as some fantastic new promotional pictures.
Stay tuned for more info…
Isn't this the best news of this year for all Westlife and Cheiron fans?

OH MY GOD!!!!! GREAT GREAT NEWS!!!!!
I LOVE WESTLIFE and I hope in their next album will be a song written by MAX......similar like style to the wonderful WHEN YOU'RE LOOKING LIKE THAT!!!!! I love that song!!!
Wow! that is so exciting. Westlife are back!
This is what they need.......
Yes!
And when they work at Maratone it is very likely Max has his input.
I read Nicky from the band wanted to work with him again!
Yay!
Can't wait to hear new material like this....

It's the news you've all been waiting for – we can finally reveal that Westlife's new single will be released next month!
It's a cover version of the gorgeous ballad 'Home' by Michael Bublé and will be out to buy on 22nd October (those of you paying attention during last Saturday's X Factor may have heard a taster!) The video shoot has just been completed, so stay tuned for more info.
The song is taken from their upcoming album, which the guys have just finished recording. It's packed full of brand new songs which Westlife have worked on with a team of top writers and producers. Full details coming your way shortly.
:D
That's SO Westlife, first single has always been a cover the last years.
It's annoying no doubt, but I really hope they have lots of original songs.
"Home" wasn't a big hit in Europe so it should be succesful anyway in the UK.
And I am hoping for a Swedish B-Side of course.
I'm appalled that they are releasing a cover of Buble's Home. Home is a nice song but the Michael Buble version is still playing on the radio.
I do not understand why they would do this either. well, hopefully we can hear some original material on their album.
I must say I like "Home", yes I am predictable..
The album has a title now - "Back home" and it's released on November 5th, so on the same day as Leona's album!!
Here is the tracklist ;)
I am pretty sure "I'm already there" is a Lonestar cover ;D
"Catch my breath" apparantly Steve Mac, Wayne Hector
Oh here are the credits from Wikipedia, some are not really correct, because they mentioned Dave Arch, who is a arranger and the strings conductors in Stockholm but mostly they got it right.
1.Home
2. Us against the world (Arnthor Birgisson, Rami Yacoub, Savan Kotecha)
3. Something right (Arnthor Birgisson, Rami Yacoub, Savan Kotecha)
4.I'm already there
5.When I'm with you
6.Have you ever
7.It's you
8.Catch my breath
9. The easy way (Arnthor Birgisson, Rami Yacoub, Savan Kotecha)
10.I do
11. Pictures in my head (Arnthor Birgisson, Rami Yacoub, Savan Kotecha)
12.You must have had a broken heart (Jörgen Elofsson, Nicky Chinn)

I was waiting so long for new Swedish original songs.
"Have you ever" is the Brandy song ::)
The album snippet sampler leaked..

fantstic news turnaround, thankyou, team savan, rami, arnthor seems to have many songs out this year... GREAT. :)
The songwriters look great! thanks turnaround
I'm very much looking fwd to Westlife
Listen to some clips of Back Home
i really love pictures in my head and us against the world
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jCQKGXV3RzE
Listening to the snippets I must say I already love every song but "Have you ever".
It seems they all have created a wonderful pop-album with Swedish anthems and the great other tracks by Steve Mac.
All snippets here :)

the songs r great ,i think westlife's album will be better than backstreet boys album.
Oh yes, definitely. :)
I'm really unimpressed with the clips so far, but I don't usually like clips anyway so I'll reserve full judgement until I hear the album in full. Pictures In My Head sounds really good though.

Having just heard BSB new album and listening to the clips of Westlife's, I have to say BSB's album pisses all over Westlife's and then laughs in it's face. I hope I like the Westlife album more when I hear the full versions of the tracks but at the moment I am extremely underwhelmed!!
Oh I feel the extreme opposite of that!
The BSB snippets sound so samey, but Westlife's has the Swedish flair and spirit.
But it's all a matter of taste. :)

Maybe I need to stick with Westlife's then. I thought they all siunded a bit samey though LOL. So funny how people hear things differently! I don't usually like clips though so maybe the full versions of the Westlife tracks will be better for me. I prefer an album that has more upbeat songs though, and there are loads of tracks to dance to on Unbreakable.
How weird, I've just listened to the Westlife clips again and have completely changed my mind about them LOL! I still think that BSB's album is better but I'm really looking forward to getting Westlife's as well now. I just don't like the Mac/Hector piano ballads that Westlife do, they all sound the same to me. You are right though Turnaround about most of the tracks having that Swedish flair - I can hear it now yayyyy!
they are really proud of the songs
us against the world and
something right

us against the world is amazing....
Thanks for the youtube clips. Really great to hear more story behind these songs, and especially glad that it is an album of largely new material. I'm liking the album clips more with each listen. One thing though, in the videos they say the album has 'a lot of tempo' but I really don't hear that in the clips. Does anyone else?
Thank you nicky, I love to hear when they are talking about the songs.
They think "Us against the world" is the best song, and Shane talks about Maratone!! ;D ;D
And on "Home" nicky talks about Cheiron! :o http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4xJU7Qw5wEM
This album sounds so good, wow, didn't expect this album to be the best of their career!!
Doesn't Mark know "I'm already there" is a cover of Lonestar. ???
Thanks Nicky
Yes, so great to hear them talking about the songs!
More and more track-by-track comments arrive.
You can listen a minute to the song after the comments.

Serious, this is my song...If you find words tell me... :)
Us against the world.... Rami/arnthor/savan

I've got the album.. wow.. the maratone's song are really great!;.. the others are bad..
Good album!!!!
I love Westlife!!!!
My favourite song is PICTURE IN MY HEAD......remember me the old time of cheiron sound!!!!!!
Go guys to the number one!!!!!
Westlife better than Spice Girls!!!
I've decided I quite like the album now. Some great tracks some not so great. I love Us Against The World, Something Right, Pictures In My Head & When I'm With You (which I think really sounds like it could have been on the new Shayne Ward album), plus Jorgen has done a great job with You Must Have Had A Broken Heart.
Here's my review of the Cheiron songs ;)
Best Melody: "Us against the world"
Best Lyrics: "Something right"
Best Production: "The Easy Way"
Best background vocals: "You must have had a broken heart"
Most fabulous keychange: "You must have had a broken heart"
The Cheiron songs are all really worth listening. Rami, Savan and Arnthor have written some pretty different songs.
I am especially pleased Jörgen has an old-style Westlife-mid-tempo ballad on it. Since the "Greatest hits" they haven't worked with him anymore. This could have also been a song for an Idol-winner, it has this anthem-feeling to it.
"Us against the world" is a very good choice for the second single, though I'd prefer "Something right" as it's been a while since Westlife had a faster song released as an single.
"Pictures in my head" is also the perfect radio song, you have the melody in your head instantly.
Right now "Something right" is my favourite, it's so uplifting and catchy, closely followed by "You must have had a broken heart".
Other highlights from the album: "Catch my breath" and "I'm already there".
I am a bit disappointed by the other Steve Mac songs.
Definitely recommend it, maybe their best album in their career!
I bought this album yesterday.
Something Right is my favourite song on it too.
The Cheiron songs are definitely the best on the album
I'm appalled that they covered Have You Ever, I was so sick of hearing that song back when Brandy sang it (I think it was Brandy) and now hearing Westlife sing it - ugh.
I would like Westlife to be brave enough to release an album with only originals.
I don't think this is going to be my favourite of their albums. Nothing can beat Coast to Coast - with My Love and I Lay My Love On You.
I still don't understand why they still do what Simon Cowell tells them to do.
He wanted them to record "Have you ever" because he thought it was a good song to show their harmonies. :-X
Just annoying. I am sure Maratone had many more good songs for that album and covering "Home" and "Have you ever" is really pretty useless.
so ridiculous!
we know they do great harmonies - they have already released a bunch of albums, it's not like they're auditioning for Idol! Simon Cowell must have such control over them, we were probably lucky they sang any originals at all!
yea I also hate cover after cover after cover... lol

I find it funny how in interviews they're talking about being sick of doing cover songs and being happy about finally having an album full of brandnew original Westlife tracks, when in fact there's still 17% cover versions on it. *lol*
It's just too funny really. "Brandnew original Westlife tracks" translated: Old songs by Westlife! but it's okay because they are harmonising.
I have to admit though that I love their Total Eclipse of the Heart. I would love them to cover Alone though - take note Simon Cowell. haha

I hate that song!
you know I'm not surprised, it's one of those that can really irritate people and I could almost hate it too, but because it's so corny and over the top that I love it
usually I would like these type of songs.. I don't know
I don't like Avril.. so the combination of that lol
oh I just re-read all that. I thought you meant that you hated Alone - the Heart song. I was a little confused!
Now I see you don't like Alone - the Avril song which is what you said.
actually that does surprise me!
does it? lol
everyone says that
I love Heart-Alone!!!
Yes, it surprised me
oh great you like Heart's Alone!

"Do you like 'Home' by Westlife?"
Yes I like them. Both. Very much. ;D
Nice pick up - I hadn't noticed that before
I prefer the other Home - not the Buble cover
The new single will be "Us against the world".
Pretty surprised as they performed "Something right" lately in Scandinavia.
The fourth single will be according to Nicky "I'm already there", so I hope "Something right" will be the third.
"Something right" would be a lovely song for the spring!
good news, but I would prefer Something Right
Something right is playing on the radio stations in sweden, but i don´t know if it would be the next singel,
Maybe they release different singles in different countries?
I have no idea, they shoot a new video this week.
something right is a wonderful song...
home, first single, is track number one of the album...
us against the world, second single, is track number two...
i'm already there, fourth single, is track number four...
so... something right (track number three of the album) would necessarily be the third single...
am i right?? ;D
mmmmmm caro amico andrea, ragionando come l'hai vista tu per me e' un dramma....la mia canzone preferita e' picture in my head......traccia numero 11....mi sa che non uscira' mai come singolo ;D
Translate for the other guys..... My favourite song in this album is picture in my head but this song is TRACK 11!!!!!! Is possible this song will be realise like 11 single????? ;D
It's darn stupid of them not to release "Something Right". Why go for another ballad (a lovely one though) as second single? It doesn't make any sense. SR is much stronger and would top the charts, I'm sure.

Yeah, that's possible ;D
Don't get me wrong I love "UATW" but it's really about time to release an uptempo song, after two cover albums and "Home".
The fans on the official site could vote for their favourite track, and that's the result.
QuoteYou've been voting in your hundreds and hundreds for your favourite track on Back Home in our poll. The vote is now closed - here are the top three songs you picked:
1. I'm Already There (21.7%)
2. Something Right (14.57%)
3. Us Against The World (14.42%)
That's an interesting result. Good that Something Right was voted 2nd - my favourite.

I'm afraid chances are not very high this will be released :(
I wonder which song would be our writers' first choice as the second single.
So here are the videos for "Us against the world" (UK #7) and "Something Right" (released in a few countries around the world)
