So I came by this awesome song by Tove Lo called Out of Mind, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_65tLeIWtx0
Decided to find out who she is, and seems like I'm not the only one who's impressed. Max Martin heard a song of hers and signed her in the fall 2013, as it says in this swedish article:"She is Max Martins new hope", http://www.aftonbladet.se/nojesbladet/musik/article18472413.ab
Since then she has, besides working on her own stuff, helped co-writing songs for artist like Icona Pop(ie. This Is.. - We Got the World), Lea Michelle(Louder - Thousand Needles), Cher LLoyd(Sorry I'm Late- 'Killin' It', http://www.josepvinaixa.com/blog/cher-lloyd-sorry-im-late-promo-artwork-tracklist/)
In an interview to STIM she came with some interesting news, Max Martin and Shellback are mentoring a team of young talented swedish songwriters and producers to secure the next generation:"Fall 2013, Tove was invited to join a group of young songwriters that Max Martin and his colleague Johan Schuster, better known as Shellback, were mentoring, with the aim of creating the next generation of great Swedish songwriters."
http://www.stim.se/PRESS/Portraits/The-hype-surrounding-Tove-Lo/
Very exiting news! Here's an interview in swedish(called "She's living the dream"), barely understand it myself, so don't think I'm able to translate, but she does talk about what makes a song great. http://www.tv4play.se/program/nyhetsmorgon?video_id=2582829
And another in depth interview, this time in english, http://radarmagazine.se/music/interview/tove-lo/
Sorry for all the brackets and links making it a bit messy to read, hope you guys find it interesting! :)
ahahah... good
:)
but max martin is so anonymous
very catchy song out of mind...
did max martin wrote it?
max martin knows how to catch ur attention thru music.
and earing 120 000 kr per year isnt bad at alll for a young talent like she is... well done.
does max martin own a record label?
i wonder if she will become internationally popular like for example taylor swift... haha aslong as she keeps it pop.

A publisher I believe, which is MXM songs.
Mm, that's good.
She released and EP around a month ago and Max Martin is not involved.
Fantastic song. That's really great that Max and Shellback are mentoring other songwriters.
Her song "habits" is brilliant!!!
exclusive interview with tove lo and about max martin
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OF-tN8qlOQo
thanks, can someone do a translation?
i can but it will be too much of work to do
but the interview is mostly about.. tove los singing
I can sum up what she says about Max:
The interviewer asks about her affiliation with Max/Shellbacks songwriting "collective". Tove says that she and a couple of other Swedish songwriters and producers, starting late last year, have been working on different projects (in which she primarily writes melodies and lyrics as she have with Icona Pop). The interviewer then asks if this means that some of her songs could be placed on a major artist (JB, Pink etc.) and she says yes, that's the goal.
When asked about how she got in touch with Max, she says that she had been working with some people that he'd had his eyes on and he ended up being curious about her as well. Not very much info, but basically she is not signed to Max per se, it is more of a Swedish songwriting branch within the label that Max/Shellback is in charge of to which she is assigned to.
Other than that, they talk about her artistry and about the lyrics where she mentions the bath tub and what not. She says that her apartment is cold and she sometimes eat her dinner there.
I like Habits as well, the chorus is amazing.
I dislike something about her voice and sometimes I think the productions doesn't do justice to her writing.
Out of Mind sounds amazing though, reminds me a lot of Say Lou Lou...
Not on Drugs is incredibly hooky. Great great chorus!
Thanks Alexander for the translation.
The album is out September 30th via Universal.
New song out: Timebomb.
Written by Tove Lo, Klas Ahlund and Alexander Kronlund.
Nice, time to move this to "New Songs"
And added it to our Cheiron Spotify playlist.

The verses are weird.
It's like the same idea Natalia Imbruglia did on That Day, back in 2001.
Album is now ready for pre-order on iTunes:

It leaked: there are some really interesting moments.
I liked that it's like three parts: it makes sense as a concept.
Shellback, Alexander Kronlund and Klas Ahlund are some of the collaborators.
Cool
Can you post the full credits please
I don't know the original credits, I'll post them when they appear :)
New song out, from the pre orders: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k0qbZttt0lw
Love it.
I checked APRA, no Max song so far, but there were missing a few in the database.
There are two tracks by Shellback, by the way it sounds.
The other, must be from her previous collaborators.
The song produced by Alexander Kronlund + Klas Ahlund doesn't sound like them.
Album is out!!

Tove Lo making a strong push for #1 in America. Another success story for Max and his team.
The album has been released in Germany (yes, we are late!) and I had a few listens.
I like "Moments" most. Nice lyrics.
"Thousand miles" is also another favourite. Reminds me of Lady Gaga.
Same for "Not on drugs"
Would love to see her at Melodifestivalen! And working with Max.
Talking Body is brilliant. One could think Shellback has also WRITING credits for this one.
I think he does write, melodies.
Girls are way better with lyrics.

Because it gets simpler and simpler...
According to Shellback wikipedia site he produced something on the Tove Lo album.
Anyone has the CD an might check the booklet?

Big Tove Lo fan here. I have the CD and there's no direct mention of Shellback but he and Max (I assume) are involved but under the name Wolf Cousins.
Most of the song are produced by The Struts (who I still don't know exactly who they are and would love to know). There are a couple of songs from other producers, one by Kyle Shearer (who actually posted in the forum) and another by Lucas Nord.
I think it's additional production or vocal production.

Tove Lo was asked about Max Martin in a spanish webzine, I translated the questions for you :)
http://jenesaispop.com/2015/08/14/234259/tove-lo-creia-que-max-martin-era-un-sabelotodo/
What's the reason behind swedish pop music's quality?
I'm part of Max Martin & Shellback's songwriting team, whom are swedish as well, and I basically work with swedish people but, I have no idea why it is that way. Maybe it's because our english is very direct. We're clear and we like pop's simplicity. Something very important is, from such a young age, swedish people assists to public music schools. I went to one of them since I was very young. We also learn english and that's the reason of this american accent.
I read about Max Martin studying classical music since a very young age and that being the reason of the quality of his compositions, because just like classical compositions, the most important thing for him is the melody
That's true. Also, the way we speak is quite melodic. People from other countries points that our talking is like to be singing. But when people ask me about the success of swedish pop music I reply is a mystery to me too.
What is it like to work with Max Martin?
We did a couple of sessions, not for me but for someone else. He's really humble and very talented. He loves music and he's not the kind of guy that just puts his name on a song and that's it. Max works hard to make sure every song is perfect. I was very impressed, he's way different of what I thought he would be, but in a good way.
How do you think he was like?
I thought he would be a smartass, but when I got into the pop world I realised I tend to judge a lot without knowing. When I met him, I found a really nice, smart and ambitious guy and I felt bad about myself (laughs).
She talks about giving her songs to other people and says lots of people wanted to cut "Habits" and "Love Ballad".
Tell us something about Ellie Goulding's "Love Me Like You Do", you're one of co-writers:
That's what I meant: that song was written for her. People is like "why didn't you keep that one for yourself?", but we didn't wrote that one for me. If I kept it, I wouldn't feel like the song was mine, it wouldn't be authentic. About my work on the song, I just fixed the lyrics here and there and that's it: it's a bit like an undeserved fame about me writing the song. But it was great to be part of the team who did that one.
thank you very much!

Sounds good.
It's not an instant hit, I think.
The hook is really boring.
She and The Struts never dissapoints me, it's cool.
Cool Girl has actually really grown on me. I love the production and her smooth vocals.
I also like the lyrics and song message; being a no-strings attached girl, like a guy is stereotypically.
The hook is pulsating and thumping and I really dig the formant shifting vocal effects.
Shellback, Rickard and Ilya ya probably for Tove herself.

Keep it Simple is a smash, sounds like Sonic Crusader by Mr Flash.
So I just had my first listen.
As expected, the whole album is produced in brilliant quality (The Struts made a huge step forward!), yet the "hits" are missing.
My current favorites are the last four songs, excluding Ali's song (sorry Ali and José :( )
I agree, with you Benny.
True Disaster is the perfect mashup of Maroon 5's It Was Always You and Taylor Swift's Style.
Ilya kinda messed up the snares in Don't Talk About It.

Tove Lo about the album and Wolf Cousins' fancy studio.
Such an excellent album.
It's hard to choose a highlight, but Lady Wood is pretty good, Keep It Simple has strong some strong feelings there, I love the concept overall, it's quite short in comparison to Queen of the Clouds, no extra songs in the deluxe edition, what a shame. I can't wait for chapter two and hopefully three!
My favorites are Flashes, Don't Talk about It, Keep It simple, True Disaster
I wonder why What I Want for the Night (Bitches) wasn't included on the album, it's an amazing tune from Ali and Tove, almost as good as Keep It Simple
Because is from the second part of the saga.
He didn't say that, it's just a bad translation of the article

A new song of hers included on the Fifty Shades Darker soundtrack.
Sounds really good.
I met Tove last saturday at Lollapalooza Santiago.
I fangirled about the Wolf Cousins and she looked surprised about me knowing who they were.
I told her I was a huge fan of her work as well and and that I love Ali Payami, he's my fave.
She kindly replied "believe me, I'll tell the guys about this, it's so weird" :D :D :D

I imagine that I could be explaining it in a way that the people don't like.
"Hey I like the producers, not the artists" it's not very well received (at least all my friends). Maybe because that's kind of discrediting the artist and the visuals and personality that comes with that, that's the only reason I came up to.
I really wonder why people don't find these things more often although I knew some people that when I said Max Martin it did ring a bell but they didn't know exactly where they heard that or who he is.

I learned she is a daughter of a billionaire so when he dies she inherits more then $500 mil. Can't listen to her music without thinking about it now.

Glad He's Gone remixes is out.
Great work by Major Lazer, which BTW has a new member.
The Major Lazer rework could make the song a hit with proper promo.

"Mateo" - Tove Lo, Ludvig Söderberg, Jakob Jerlström & Max Martin
"Sunshine Kitty" - Tove Lo, Mattias Larsson, Robin Fredriksson & Max Martin
Finally Tove could get Max on her album lol.
Are you able to get the rest of the credits?

The album is out, I find it funny that the songs written by Ludvig Soderberg only he lists himself in the producers' credit as "A Strut"
Maybe they renamed that song? Or I was wrong?

Well, after all we've got two max songs anyway.
Haven't listened to the whole album yet but I'm not really feeling this more acoustic sounding route.
I liked her because she did amazing with her collaborators in terms of sound, pushing the boundaries or doing interesting things in terms of vocal production.
The Kylie Minogue featured track is a standout.

Apparently there's only two new songs (sadder badder cooler) Written by Max and Elvira Anderfjald, does anyone who she is?
The other one is I'm coming produced by Elvira Anderfjald too.
Elvira Anderfjald is Taylor Swift.

I didn't found anything about that person. Which is weird, isn't it?
If it's a female producer, it would be so cool.
Sounds a lot like Tove Styrke to me. I love her.
Is she a Wolfs Cousin?
No, not yet at least. She's been fairly low profile in Sweden actually. She is one of very few female producers here though so naturally she gets some attention in the business. Max has spoken about wanting to involve more female producers, so I think we'll hear more from her!

Is she a Wolfs Cousin?
Yes, she is. I met her on Lollapalooza Santiago in 2017 and we chat a bit. I told her I was a huge Max Martin fan and a big fan of the Wolf Cousins and she told me "I'm a Wolf Cousin too". Really cool girl, down to earth and very nice.
I don't consider Tove a producer, she's more a songwriter.

Nice one!
A little detail that might be worth noting, in Tidal it appears as it was published by Wolf Cousins, so after all this time it's still up and running.
Tove just announced her new album Dirt Femme, collaborators include Oscar Görres, Elvira Anderjärd, The Struts, SG Lewis and many more. It will be out in October, looking forward to it!

Tove Lo Talks New Album "Dirt Femme", Horny Anthems, Getting Married & Flashing the Crowd at the Zac Sang Show
Tove talked about Max: she said she was broke when she first travelled to LA and she didn't have a car or drive and there was no Ubers and Max took her under his wing. She talked about Julius Peterson, going to school with the girls of Icona Pop, Wolf Cousins and Shellback.
Very kind words.
Her father is a Euro billionaire.
