I need to rant. Big time.

Why isn't Marie Serneholt super famous and more importantly, where the heck  is her second album We were promised an album http://www.swedishsongs.de/smf/index.php?topic=354.msg5248#msg52488 back in 2008 and still nothing.

She's my favorite artist.  She has one the best pop voices of anyone out there. She's beyond gorgeous. She's signed with Jörgen Elofsson. Not sure what else she needs to do?

Granted, she's keeping busy in Sweden as a model and now host of X Factor Sweden and was a participant in Melodifestivalen over last two years.  But, she could easily have been as big as Katy Perry.  I know she's not American as many major pop artists are, but that shouldn't matter.  She's virtually unknown here in the US.

Her last song that we have from her was her supposed single from her second album and Melodifestivalen entry "Disconnect Me" -- an amazing pop song.

Must confess that despite the whole album been produced and written by Jörgen and Marie being a great artist, I was never too keen on the collaboration.

I know this is weird, as I loved some of the Ateens stuff and of course I like 95 % of what Jörgen does. But somehow the songs didn't appeal to me that much.

And I can't even say why. Maybe it was the melodies and the a bit sterile production.

I would love to see them work together, though Planet Six, the label Marie was signed to doesn't exist anymore.

So I wonder if Marie has a record deal at the moment at all.

I hadn't heard her stuff before, so I just had a listen to whatever I could find on her Vevo channel, and while I didn't mind one or two tracks, so much of it sounded like uninspired bubblegum pop with lackluster writing. I did quite enjoy the chorus in "Oxygen", really cool video too.
