QuoteIt's always upsetting to hear when an artist/act demands publishing and credit on a song they didn't write. It's morally wrong and...

Quote
..the greatest entertainers of all time (Elvis, Sinatra etc) never did that. It's disrespectful to people who work tirelessly on their craft

I would love to know which artist he is talking about..
And I liked it..

Woah! We'll have to keep an eye on everything he's working on, I'd love to know too! I agree though, it's a total insult to a songwriter.

Major A-list artists get songwriting credits because that's the only way they get MORE money and a new publisher/songwriter/producer gets a high profile song placement.

It makes sense to me, but that doesn't mean I agree with it.

Do you wanna draw me out? ;)

@eddie: lollll :D
I think songwriters should be forced to give 90% of the credit to every artist, always. And even if an artist turns down their song, the songwriters should have to pay the artist a fee out of their own pocket, and never bother them again.

Are you getting credits when you just add some ad-lips?

Oh and Simon Cowell just got credits for having the idea for "Footprints"..

I guess we have talked about that already. :D :D

Amen!
Thank you!! And one last thing: if songwriters want to be listed on the record, they have to pay extra for that.

Or when you do the whole production and you're only credited for additional production.
